I have a hybrid motor that is built with je hybrid pistons and no head work. It made 375 awhp on pump gas and a 20g. I am now thinking about destroking this motor and using a + 2 rod.

Thanks for the response Kelly. I have been reading your build post today and it looks like a fun build. Those are some nice numbers. How is this engine on 91 as a dd?

I have as well. No numbers yet though as I haven't broken it in still! But my heads are chamber matched, as are Kelly's correct?

The CR is 9.1:1 so it doesn't really like California pump 91. I onlyl run 17 psi on straight pump and it put down 400whp. With just a hint of octane or meth and we added 100whp. A few stations have 100 octane at the pump and the car is really happy with 3 gallons of 100 octane topped off with 91.

I'll be going to a flex fuel setup shortly and I expect to be able to turn up the boost to a comfortable 30 psi for daily use. I expect big #'s when that happens as long as I can hold boost in the upper rpms.

So I will be building this engine with less compression so that I can run 91 and still have boost and timing. I also think I will try this with my fp green, bc272,s and run it on e85 for the track. I think I am done with meth. Wish I had 100 oct to play with.

I know there is a 76 in the Temecula/Murrietta area that has 100 octane at the pump. Certain 76 gas stations and CFN/Downs Energy in Temecula carry 100 Octane VP StreetBlaze.

That is only about 6 hours from here, not sure that I could make that work for me.

My bad, I saw SCIC for region and thought your location was Murietta, CA. I don't even know where Mariposa, CA is

but which version of the hybrid piston? I'm guessing 8.5:1 because of the 91 octane piss...

Yes 8.5:1 is right because of piss. I also like to run the lower compression on my turbo motors because that gives you more room to play with timing and boost.

Ok, so destroked you're going to be like high 7's or so maybe 8.0. Just run the numbers real quick.

With a + 2mm rod I should be at 8.5 still. I just need to find some +2 rods at a good price. Who has them?
