Default cleaning a HID bulb

I think my @$$hat friend touched the bulb, before I go ahead with the install, should I wipe it down with alcohol, or some other proper solvent?

Thanks,
jerome

It wouldn't hurt to do that, but it isn't as important as with filament-type bulbs. The reason you need to keep halogen bulbs clean is that the oil from your fingers gets transferred to the glass and can interfere with heat dissipation, thereby causing the filament to run hotter and burn out prematurely. An HID bulb does not have a filament, only gas inside, so it won't burn out in the same way.
But in general, a clean bulb is a happy one.
