HKS Grounding Kit installed
Well I ordered that HKS circle grounding kit off of ebay. It came with no instructions so it was somewhat of a DIY job, but it isn't that hard to find bolts to attach the wires to.
Pretty good buy I believe for $25. I noticed better throttle response, shifting is alot smoother for my AT, and I think I got a deeper exhaust note. Also my lights are a little brighter (interior and exterior)

Congrats, looks nice.
But, how would a grounding kit deepen the exhaust sound? |

Definately a good buy. I need to do this soon to see if it can smooth out some of the hesitation I have. And that is one clean looking engine bay man!

Have you ever noticed any water getting into your filter with that Intake setup?
I know there is that little flap in front of the inlet once the hood is closed. But, I can't see it stopping the water from going into the intake. What kind of difference did that setup do for your legacy? |

I'm so sorry for saying this, cause you are so proud of your mod, but... I don't think it looks all that good at all. I bet it does provide a better ground for some of the electrical items, but looks wise, it makes the engine bay look messy. Maybe you could try running the wires better?!?
I like your intake though... |

I have never had any water in my intake. It is way too high to get any water not to mention it is all covered by my hood. It is pretty much exactly the same as stock, but I took all that gnarled up plastic stuff out and replaced it with a smooth 2 1/2 inch exhaust pipe bent to meet with the stock inlet and airbox. I also replaced with stock filter with a K&N filter.
There is a difference becasue there is much less air escaping (the stock thing has lots of air leaks) I got the pipe for $20 from Mieneke and painted it myself with some engine enamel spray paint for like $5. Also I plan to re-route the wires. I did it like this to make sure all the grounds are good and nothing grounds-out. I have had it on for about a week now and everything is perfect so now I am going to make it all pretty. |

water in the intake isn't bad in small doses...he obviously isn't going to flood the engine with water, and a little bit of moisture helps combustion
I agree with Janikphoto about the messy look...do something about it... :/ |
