Question Stromung test pipe cool with emissions?

If I install the Stromung test pipe that eliminates the secondary cat on my 01 RS, will it pass emissions or not? I live in Northern VA FYI.

Thanks,
Rusty

The Mid pipe you mean? Its not a cat, its a resonator to quiet the exhaust. Shouldn't effect your emmisions at all.

You will pass with flying colors if you retain the first cat.

Rusty,

Do you have or plan to turbo the car? The track pipe will not give you much (if any) performance gains if you are not turboed...

I don't know much about the "stromung" test pipe, but a muffler-shop can make one for you, but are hesitant to install it as they can get fined. But there is no way in hell a test pipe will pass emissions, cuz it eliminates the cats.

No, I mean the test pipe. I'm yanking this off of teagues auto.

"Stromung Exhaust Systems are a direct bolt-on replacement for your stock system available for Impreza 2.5, Legacy
2.5 and Forester. The high performance track pipe for the Impreza bolts directly to your primary catalytic converter,
eliminating the second catalytic converter. "

So there will still be one cat left which should be good enough to pass emissions, right? I don't want to eliminate ALL cats. I like the environment at least enough to still use one.

Oh, OK. Than no way, you flunk emissions real quick with no cat.

Isn't there two cats on the MY01 RS?
Are you telling me that one cat by itself will not be sufficient in order for me to pass emissions?

Cool, thanks for the information.
I'm glad to hear that a single cat is sufficient, but I guess I won't get the test pipe since I'm planing on staying N/A - at least for a few years.
