Default The official Jax up-pipe install day sign-up!

Here it is boys and girls, grab yourself an up-pipe and come on over to Sparks' house this Saturday because we will be swapping out those nasty little pre-cat gremlins. We will probably get started in the morning. Sparks will be putting in his PDE pipe, and I already have in my Vishnu pipe but will be tearing it all apart again to kill a nasty exhaust leak that I have. So feel free to come on over with your pipes, or just stop by to have a look and laugh at us as we tear apart perfectly good cars.

-Dave

Bummer, I would drive up from DeLand for this, but I don't have my uppipe yet, still trying to decide between the Scoobysport and the Vishnu since I have a Scooby turbo back on my car, and I have to go to South Florida this weekend.

Please post if you are going to do this again in the near future as I would be very interested.

As always if I'm in town, I'll be there. Don't have the uppipe to install but maybe the electrical oil pressure gauge with sandwich if time allows. I do have the wife's Mom and sister in town so might be delayed a bit.

Dave,

I picked up a set of meteric gear wrenches.

I also got 12MM and 14MM flex head sockets.

I borrowed a 7/8 open end wrench for the lamda, should I get the 22MM wrench instead?

Shaun

We'll probably be starting around 10 o'clock. (If I can wake myself up early enough to drive from the beaches to the west side that is)

Shaun - what on earth would we need a 7/8 or 22mm wrench for? What's a lamda? Flex head sockets, never seen them but sound like they should do the trick. I forgot to mention that I'll bring my O2 socket. Needs a 1" wrench to turn it though, unless you have a really flat ratchet - there's not a lot of clearance to get the O2 sensor out of the exhaust manifold.

The O2 sensor is the "wide band lamda." You have to socket so it dosen't matter.

1" opend end? No problem, the garage next door is always open for me

Ben

Make sure you bring your custom designed roof spoiler. I didn't get a picture last time

That thing has got to create some serious down force on the track.

Funny, it seems that I knew what you were talking about without knowing what you were talking about.

BTW, I might have someone else lined up to come over to. Said he's not afraid to help, so I say the more hands the better. Looks like we should have quite a get-together this weekend.

I guess I'll be stopping by SOJ tomorrow to pick up the oil filter. Anyone else need anything? FYI besides SOJ, Columbia SC has the next nearest dealership heading north. Learned that lesson the hard way.

Do you think they'd have the up-pipe gaskets? I need the gaskets on the lower and upper side of the up-pipe, and the gasket at the turbine side of the turbo. They might run $20 or so, but I'd gladly pay Rich King markup prices if you can get them.

I'll see if they have them in stock or not. If they do I'll let you know. It could be one of those "Why are you replacing those now?" questions but I think they're getting the picture. They asked me "Why do you need new brake pads after 5000 miles?" Of course my wife told them, "Well you see, he's at a track right now and said his pedal has already gotten soft." Wonderful right. Anyway as soon as I get an answer tomorrow afternoon I'll let you know. If you've got the part numbers that'll help too.

Don't worry about the 22MM wrench. Dave has the O2 sensor socket.

You guys want me to pick up some munchies? I was thinking a party sub from Winn Dixie.

Everything is set for starting at 10am on my end. Garage is clean and the beer's cold.

Can we sell the extra beer, parts, nuts, and bolts that somehow mysteriously never make it back on to the car after the installs are done? Ok maybe not the beer.

Ah yes, that strange phenomenon. I have a bag full of various nuts and bolts and miscellaneous parts that I have no idea where they go.

Part numbers:
1. Top Gasket for downpipe 44022AA180
2. Top Gasket of uppipe 44022AA150
3. Bottom Gasket of uppipe to manifold 44022AA170
and maybe these two if they have them,
4. Righthand Manifold Gasket to the block 14038AA000
5. Crosspipe to RH Manifold 44011FA020

If you can't get them don't worry about it. Looks like they might cost more than I thought anyway.

I'll have my digital camera too so i-club should be seeing a lot of our ugly mugs, I mean cars afterwards.

Shaun, food is good, I'll gladly chip in for whatever we get.
