Thanks G. Ill check to see if my car has it. if not i guess ill have to hunt one down or something.

if anyone else has ideas on how to get it work please chime in. I am probably going to try and install it this weekend, so hopefully it does work.

I ask because cars other than the limited do come with the fog lights installed with the on/off switch on the stalk. When I ordered the stalk there were only two options for stalks (one with and one without the fog lights).

When I received the stalked I was taken back when I saw "auto" which is why I am curious to know if it will work. I presume it would unless there is some special stalk that isnt listed in the parts manifest.

My car is a Sport Premium, which came without the Auto function, but did come with foglights. My stalk does not have the Auto position.

Well, you definately need a sensor. That we know for sure. The unknown is installing it. I'm guessing you have a round plastic tab in the place where the sensor goes. If you pop that out, I doubt it's pre-wired to just connect that sensor. You may have to take the whole dash apart to run the wire if you can't let it drop from the top. I would absolutely dread taking this dash apart just for that or maybe you could tuck the wire along the windshied, if possible.

I doubt the sensor and the stalk are the only different parts, there has to be some sort of headlight relay or a different relay involved.

You are the test bunny, no one else has done it. My car has "auto" lights, if I leave them on, they shut off when I pull the key. Good enough for me. I never seem to drive around at night forgetting to turn them on...

zeeper i completely agree with you on the key thing with the headlights....im just trying to either one, return the stalk with the "auto" since i think it would bug me if i have it and it doesnt work, so i prefer to just have the stalk that doesnt have the auto and just the fog lights....ill sort it out.

thanks for the responses fellas! ill also see if there is anything else i would need...sounds like it might be more trouble than its worth so ill just try to get the right stalk.

There is no right stalk. You either get the stalk with no fog lights on it, or you get the Limited stalk with fog lights AND "Auto" on it. This is what I was told when I tried to get the dealer to put a fog light stalk in my Premium + Fog Lights (I ordered the car before any 2012s were available, I was told it would have a fog light stalk). They said they wouldn't put a fog stalk in because it was an incorrect part for me car. They offered to give me a stalk, but at that point I wasn't going to mess with my new car.

hmmm...sgoldste01 stated that his car which is a premium with fog lights did come with a stalk without the "auto" so i guess they dont have it offered to purchase as parts? but only sell the "no fog" stalk and the "fog with auto" stalk.....ill call the place i got the stalk from.

I have the auto function for the light but i think it likes to overreact. When i go through tunnels, during dusk/dawn, shadows on cloudy days it will toggle the lights.

Sometimes i think the oncoming traffic thinks im flashing them. I like the auto, but i could do without.

i would say keep the auto stalk, but youre not missing out on much.

Cover it with pinstripe or small decal or get creative if you dont wanna stare at it. lol

It has a sensitivity setting but you'll have to get the dealer to do it.

I'm pretty sure that only the Impreza models that come with the fog lights standard (Limited and Premium models) have the switch on the stalk. I believe that if someone buys an Impreza that doesn't come standard with fogs, and then has the dealership add fogs as an accessory, the switch is installed on the dash.

Hey gang, how would I know if my engine was flashed without my knowing? Would the dealer have to disclose that they did the flash?

Do you know if the dealership would need certain info off the new TPMS modules themselves in order to program them? For example, if I bought a set of tires and rims from Tire Rack with new TPMS units already installed, would the dealership not be able to program the new ones without being able to see them and get numbers from them?
As long as the sensors from tirerack are compatible, they just plug the SSM into the obd port and they use a transmitter device and touch the valve stem area (externally) to train the computer. I have two sets of Subaru TPMS sensors but I only have the winter tires trained since they are more likely to drop in pressuredue to the cold weather.

Wow!

Alpine KTP 445u = perfect upgrade for factory radio amplifier. Only problem is now i will need new speakers too because the stock ones distort easily now, couldn't really get then to distort with the factory radio. I used to run +6 to +8 bass and treble. Now maybe +2 bass and neutral mid/treble. A lot of the boominess is gone too with a similar sound to my ear and ear splitting volumes.

Volume level 6 now is equivalent to 20 before and 25 is pretty much too loud.

does anyone know what the bulbs are for the map light, dome light, and cargo light of the 2012 Impreza Wagon are?? I checked out the owner's manual and it doesnt tell you what type of light it uses. It just tells you the voltage the bulb uses but not the type/model.

anyone has some recommendation on some good LEDs to replace the stock bulbs for those areas? I'm looking to add a LED strip on the back cargo area since the stock light in the cargo is rather weak and useless to light the back cargo area.

as always, thanks in advance.

31MM festoon is a bit of a tight fit, i had to bend the pins in the car to get it to fit. But it still works!

One in the center dome, one in each spot light in the front.

And get white Even white is a shade of blue.

Jeez, too many LEDs :P The one i bought had four SMD's (I believe that's what they're called), and for the spot lights I think that's decently sufficient. Dome, thought, is definitely too dark.
