I am currently loving the Silver City Fat Scotch Ale. Any time I can get to Oregon and score some Rogue ales I am pleased as pie!

Nice! I've got a couple of those in my cellar. How much did that St. Ambroise set you back?

It wasn't much. Pretty sure it was like 10 bucks.

I've had the 08, and it was intense. Super dry, almost like a champagne. Real sour. I guess this whole series varies a ton, and 08 was one of the best blends. People either seem to love or hate the 2006 i have.

Oh that's no too bad.

I really like sours, so I'd probably like it.

Hop Venom is some amazing stuff. They use hop extract oil for it BTW. I do a lot of home brew. Making a %16 Barley wine next weekend.

How many lbs of grain is that going to be? (5gal or 10gal) Are you adding any other fermentables?

Around 20lbs grain and 6lb DME. I cant get a good ratio in my 10g coolers to do all grain on this one.

That's intense man. I hope it turns out. Keep us updated.

I'm going to be brewing a raspberry "brown" this week, but it should be more lambic-ish.

Recently I did an imperial whiskey stout w vanilla beans. Came out awesome. Hit my target at 12.5% dead on (which is hard for higher ABV beers). Now its cellaring Has flavors from rye, chocolate, coffee, peat, honey malts and a few others

Nice! I'm pretty new to brewing. Just started last July but its kind of become an obsession now. Haha! I haven't done AG yet, but just ordered a turkey fryer online, so I will be very soon.
I've made a few hard ciders from bottled apple juice too. Really simple and delicious.

Homebrewer here. Latest batch is almost ready to bottle. It's a black IPA.

Hoping to attend Zwickelmania on the 16th again this year. Great event.

I can tell you one thing NOT to do when starting AG brewing: trust your expensive thermometer is accurate at all temps. For nearly a year I was perplexed why I could never hit target gravity...until I realized my thermometer was accurate at room temp but at 135 it read 155. ... New thermometer and things are spot on now.

Thanks for the reminder about Zwickelmani--I probably would have forgotten about it again this year. But in the meantime I'll be making a quick trip down to the Bay Area this weekend and will check out (at a minimum) Russian River and Lagunitas.

Good to know. If I get an electric one, I'll triple check it with an analog gauge so I know for sure.
