Default How long should rear drum pads last on a TS?

I have around 60k on my original stuff. Just want to be able to plan ahead.

just about forever. really. Unless you rally it. You can pop of the drums and have a look see next time you rotate the tires. There should be lots of liner left.

I'm afraid to pop em off, it might explode like a Swiss watch.

Thanks.

My girlfriend's 2000 L Wagon is getting new shoes this weekend, they're shot. It has 65,000 miles on it.

I'm still on original shoes at 90k plus. WTF? My mechanic just looked at em, said they've kind of hardened and glazed, and not to worry about it. I'm wondering if I'd get improved performance from new pads? If so, which ones? Who makes more aggressive shoes?

Talk to some of the vendors that specialize in rally, like Primitive Racing.

A lot of the lower class rally cars use drums.

Had the Porterfields installed yesterday. My old original pads, ast 93k, werev smooth and shiny as glass, with over 50% left. I expect these will be a massive improvement.
