Default Hawk or Carbotech: where to buy in Vancouver?

Just wondering where you guys go to get either one of these brands in Vancouver? More specifically, HPS or Bobcats.

Whoever you talked to is full of poopy. I got my Hawk HPS pads through the 100 Mile store, but all stores are the same.

Hang on, I'll make a few calls for you.

^lol thanks

If it makes any more difference the application is for a set of Wilwood Superlites.

Apparently I got another IQ 7 man.
"What application?"
"Wilwood Superlites"
"Ya, but what application?"
"Ummm, the Wilwoods are a specific caliper..."
"Ya but I need to know for what application"
...

^Yah they think they know what they are talking about.

Best to just find the part number online and give it to them. Best way to avoid any problems.

Oh, that would make a pretty big difference. They may not carry the pads for aftermarket calipers. Maybe they do.

Hawk HPS for Wilwood Superlite
HB101F.800

Google FTW

Lordco should be able to get these by part number.

Actually theres 2 different Superlite ones it seems. I'm the HB521 one but apparently Lordco doesn't have access to that one.

I guess I'll just give some of the other shops a call tomorrow.

Well, then it's either HB101F.800 or HB521F.800 for Hawk HPS' for Wilwood Superlites.

The 521 is for "Wilwood Bridge-Bolt Superlite Calipers", the 101 is for "AP racing, Sierra, Outlaw, Wilwood Calipers".

I already did enough work for you

Mopac carries Hawk too, and tends to have more selection in stock. I got mine there and cheaper then anything even eBay had to offer, before shipping!

so far Mopac's the only place that I've seen Hawk for cheap. Everywhere else wants 100 for a pair of HPS where mopac wants 80.

I can't seem to find Carbotech locally in stock (crap there was small online outfit that carries but doesn't stock the Bobcats). I wanted to try EBC Yellow stuff but there's no local stock either. Hawk HPS seems to work well enough for me not to bother looking either of those anymore

BTW the trick with lordco or Napa is to give them the part number for the HPS pad and have them search it up. Else they don't know ****.

yeah im very happy with mopac....fun place....and its 5 minutes from my house

everytime i go to lordco i end up getting in a fight with someone...

last time the sticker price for the wax i was buying was 40$ (which is ****ing retarded as i paid 12$ for the same stuff at autozone in US)....i go up to the front and say vancouver subaru club and then she says ok that'll be 45$....ummm??? so then i look and she has the list as 55$ - 30% plus tax....i walked out....discount = 30% OFF OF THE MARKED PRICE....dont mark it up at the counter and then take the discount off....thats just stupid

went to mopac the next day and bought the wax for 20$....

seriously if u have a hookup at lordco they have decent prices...if you're just regular joe car enthusiast they will bend you over every time....

i refuse to give them my business anymore...they are a bunch of ********

Yup they seem like they genuinely want to help you, whereas Lordco seems more like "what do you want" type of guys. Unfortunately I live on the North Shore so Mopac is a bit of a drive, but meh the money i save from the pad probably more than covers the gas i will use.

The "discount" you get through the VSC account is not "30% off". Each part has a few different prices in the system... using the VSC account gets you wholesale price. This works out well for parts etc., but the shelf items like waxes and oils are usually already marked at wholesale or below so using an account discount usually never you a savings there. Rare that it was marked lower than wholsale though... probably mis-marked, in which case they should have sold it to you for the marked price.

Rule of thumb:
Cash account for parts, tools etc = good
Cash account for oil, wax, cleaners etc. = nothing.

ok so why was it half the price at mopac?

and why were the people at mopac friendly?

and why did the people at mopac know what a wrx was....(yes the guy at lordco didn't know what a wrx was)

cause mopac is legit....lordco is ****....

like i said some people might have the hookup there for whatever reason....power to ya..but if you dont avoid those scum like the plague!
