A female friend of mine comments "Can I call it King Da Ka?" with a thumbs up gesture that workers do in six flags when your ride is about to go.

Not funny, but still... my neighbor, a 55 year old lexus guy, points to my hatch spoiler and asks innocently "what does that do"? All I could really say is, "uh, nothing much, but make cleaning the top of my hatch window more difficult.

^ Makes it a sharper vertical cutoff off the back of the vehicle. Aerodynamically makes the air flow off the back more cleanly. I heard...

Funniest thing I've heard came from a guy that works at the dealership that owns an STi. When I was buying mine he said Subaru has the ecu programmed to cut power by 30% until you hit 1000 miles, then it automatically switches maps for full power. I smiled and said that was the first I'd heard of that.

Because I always hear of the dealer telling you these:
New Car Break-in period 1000 miles: Drive calmly for the first 1,000 miles and vary your driving with a normal mix of city and highway. Always note the blue 'cold engine' light on the dashboard- its a visual reminder that the engine is cold. Avoid hard starts and stops. Avoid over-revving the engine, try to keep RPMs under 4000. Vary your speeds over the full range of city and highway driving Don't use cruise control much, if at all. City and freeway driving is fine because that will vary the speeds |
