Default What's the average % for comission only?

If someone were to work off comission only (risky but motivating), what is the average % based off either sales or profit?

Forget it. If they don't have enough faith in you to pay at least a minimal salary for your "get-up-to-speed time" just look the other way.

I used to get 2.5% if sales were under 30k , 3% for 30k+ for the week. This was for gross sales for Kings Supermarket I used to cover. I no longer do that. I used to make good money, but worked real hard.

I got 70%. If you get good commision right away its worth it. Be careful. If they tell you you will be busy right away, try it and see. If not, BAIL!

I work in a furniture store in pequannock and I get a draw vs commission. The commission rate at the store is 6% of the furniture that was shipped. Hope that helps...

Thanks guys.

Without going into to much detail, hopefully I'm going to be doing some corporate selling for a business come next fall... and it will be a monthly remittance(hopefully)... basically contract others to buy from us.

I need to look at some finacials, but I imagine each business I bring in will give them 2-10k pure profit per month... I'm going to ask for a % of the monthly profit... hopefully around 30%.. I'm going to be doing more than sales though.. basically running a whole other segment of the company targeted at a different geographical area. As of right now, they service over 180 businesses here.. If I can get even half that.. the comission would add up very quickly.
