Best place to buy tires in N.NJ or online?
members, finally picked up an 05 STi but now need new tires.
I used to work for a tire manufacturer a while ago, but unfortunately they are still crappy pricing for employee discounts T_T Looking at where you all buy tires locally N. NJ. Do you just buy online? I am looking for 225/45/17 all seaons as I have a family and no need to high performance tires as winters in NJ are harsh sometimes. let me know if you guys can recommend some places with good prices or if you know someone selling very good condition 225/45/17 all seasons. Thanks memers as always! GC [email protected] or pm me.

Hey,
I recently got a set of winter tires off of tirerack.com and the price was a really good deal. Before I bought from there, I checked places here locally in PA and none of the places prices compared to tirerack. So I would suggest going through them! |

I am looking for 225/45/17. Saw some federal ss595 and 595Evos for decent prices.. but not sure which tire shop locally in Jersey stock them. Only found California T_T and shipping is expensive! |

check out your local tire shop. i've been going to a place in piscataway that has prices similar to tirerack's, but with installation and road hazard repair included. it would actually cost you more to buy online and pay for shipping, mounting and balancing.

mobile sound has good prices? I used to live around that area and seen that place when I was a kid. Ill check them out.
to all others, thanks for the advice, I have called locally and online and as someone said, it turned out the online was cheaper but locally the tires would be a little more expensive but they would charge less for installation and all. just about the same or I would just save a few bucks.. kinda hard finding a really good place |

Im going to try to compile all the information here and maybe we can make a sticky for tire places in NJ. members, thanks again for your input.
Im actually might to go this place called Fort Lee Tire Shop. Tire prices are decent sometimes cheaper or a little more, but they reduce price for mounting balancing as well as other jobs like alignment if you want. |

Owner, rich, just bought 2013 legacy 3.6r When you buy online, a shop will kill you to mount and balance since you didn't buy from them. Which is understandable. Quality tire prices are best around . |

well, if the price per tire is in the same ballpark, but the local place includes mounting and balancing, wouldn't buying from tirerack and then paying a shop for installation cost more?

I use Tire Rack.
Then again, I have multiple sets of rims, so I drop off 4 wheels and 4 new tires and ask the shop to, "Use my job as a fill in"......thus I usually get a break on total shop cost. I can also drive around for a few days/week if need be. Local places don't always deal in my "tires of choice", so TR is my normal "go to place". Besides, they have decent reviews & testing as well as "customer reviews" so I'm "OK" with spending a little premium to get the other info. This crap is not free ya know. |
