^^ No AP for a N/A haha, why would I need to donate my gray valet key? I thought the remote starters were all digital, hardwired into the ECU or something.

I was just getting my alarm/remote start looked at a few days ago and the guys were really surprised I had a key box with the valet and said that hadn't used one of those for years... There are new data modules that program themselves that don't require the key.

I've been told by 3 places now on 08+ there isn't a remote start out for ours that doesn't use the key. It's something to do with the computer and security system.

I could have been told wrong. The car is an 09, so that is likely the case.

true, though i leave my AP at home. i just put my 20$ bluetooth OBD2 dongle in the glove box and pair it with my phone if ever needed.. I did once when i had an overboost issue.

the shop that did the install, needed that key to make the remote work. there wasn't anyway around it... On some cars, like honda they do have a box that emulates the key (GFs Honda Element is like that) and that cost 60$ more when installed.

and my 08 doesn't have a flip key..

while im here,

You know you drive a WRX/STI when coming out of a restaurant or store, kids/teens have there greasy hands in you windows to look inside.. you remote start the car(or just lock it so it makes that BEEP sound) and that startles them and they move away.

Happened to me quite often..

seriously I hate sti owners who are too good for the wrx owners. meanwhile there are people like xluben who bought a base wrx and built it and will put most of these older sti guys to Shame. hate on the other cars, not your own community.

I don't understand the wrx/sti or any other car hate. Why do people get so worked up over what some complete stranger does to their car? To each there own I guess, I just find it odd

This^^ and lots of the evos around this area are owned by drug dealer dicks so I tend to not like them lol. Exception is a X that this girl Stephanie owns

You know you drive a WRX/STI when your driving the opposite side of the road and a EVO is close to breaking his neck from staring back at your Subie!

Dunno, I get a chub for any WRX/STI, or a done up Impreza. I don't understand the hate. We know your tranny is better as well as other stuff but hey, we couldn't drop the chunk of change, shame on us? Least we're not driving civics with cans of Bush's baked beans bolted on the back
