I ordered a sport limited with spoiler, center console tray, pop pkg #1 (moonroof and other stuff) for $24070 last tuesday.
they said it'd be 4-6 weeks but who knows. I bought it at the same dealership as the guy who runs cars101.com works at.and they seem to get more subarus than any other local dealership by far, so maybe there's something there.

I called SoA again today, and was told (again) that there is no vin yet for my order, and that all orders went in on 8/15. (Funny, I placed my order on 8/8.) I was also told that typical time for delivery is 8-12 weeks, and that orders are generally fulfilled on a "first come first served" basis. Kind of funny seeing how some people have ordered Impreza's later than I, yet already have delivery dates and vins.
In any case the rep I spoke with today told me that SoA would give me $250 towards official Subaru parts/accessories purchased through official channels. I seem to remember reading about people who were waiting for 2012's got $500 from Subaru. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not saying I'm not happy with the $250, just wondering about others experiences. |

The orders are not fulfilled on a first come first served basis. Last year for the '12s I had my order in the day ordering opened up. Didn't receive my car until 5-6 weeks after the first cars started being delivered. Many of whom placed their orders 6-8 weeks after I did based on their posts on here. Just remember much of this has to do with logistics and delivery to specific dealerships. My dealer is on the smaller side, so most likely were pushed further behind by those with larger ordered, even though my order was placed on day #1. |

Yep, 8/15 is the date shown on the paperwork I have from Subaru with my VON (placed order with dealer on 7/16). I guess it’s when the system finally opened-up on the ‘13 orders.

I was told by multiple dealers that ordering wasnt going to open until 8/15. So even if you got your order placed with your dealer, the order wouldnt go to Subaru until 8/15 no matter what. And then I think it all depends on how fast the dealer got the orders in etc. My dealer told me that my order placed on 8/15 was #48 in the queue. Not that it meant anything, its just the order number they were given. He said they dont necessarily go in order either. |

SoA also seems to think that anything I read on forums is anecdotal, and discounted all of your experiences so far with regards to ordering. I'm just glad that I'm going to get something for my wait. It's not that much, but it's something. I will call the dealer tomorrow and hopefully I can post that I received a vin! Tomorrow makes 9 weeks, which roughly would mean that if I got a vin tomorrow I'd have my subaru around the 24th as well. |

I just ordered a 2013 DGM 4-door limited (no accessories) last week. I was going to email SOA with my VON next week to see if they received the order and could maybe give me an estimated delivery date...but after reading all of this, it seems that it wouldn't do me much good :S
Dealer said 6-8 weeks like all of yours, I'm just hoping I get it before the first snowfall in PA. |

I guess I will throw myself in this queue of people waiting for there 2013 Imprezas. I ordered a 2013 Impreza Premium Sport 5MT in MBP on 8/9/12. I also ordered a few accessories too:
Mesh Grill Popular Package #1 Roof Spoiler Side Sill Plates Aero Splash Guards Front Under Spoiler I can't wait for it to get here! I was told 6-10 weeks like most of you which makes October 20th about 10 weeks. Unfortunately like some of you as well I was told last week its looking more like a November time frame. Sucks I have to wait this long. First time I ordered a car, but I couldn't find a 5MT I wanted with the correct interior (Wanted Black) in July. Not to mention I wanted those accessories and the 2013 model in the premium sport is getting a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob which was the only option the 2012 didn't have that I wanted. So I will be playing the waiting game for some time. Until then I'm driving my company car Good luck to the rest of you out there who are waiting like me! |

update 10/10/12 - Week 9
Quote:
Update time, folks! So I called Grand Subaru today and talked to Joe again. Last week he said to call back in a week, and guess what? Same story again this week. No new info, no vin, nothing. Just call back in a week and hopefully it will be in the system by then... My co-worker and I already nailed down a great OTD price for the car that includes tax, title & registration, etc.. SO when I do finally get my car, I don't think it's all that unfair to go in there with some hard numbers for the extended warranty (if I buy it) and my financing (my credit is exceptional) and if they don't come close, I'll just get my deposit back and get up and leave. I've had enough. I've waited just as long, if not longer than a lot of people on these forums and the rest of the country, and never do I b!tch about it to the dealer or Subaru. I'm always courteous and reasonable. Not once have I yelled at anyone or given them a hard time. I may seem irrational to some, but I don't care. The dealer told me 6-8 weeks, and at this point it's going to be at least 11. I don't have a clue as to why they would flat out lie to me because SoA has always told me 8-12 weeks. This may seem normal for dealers because it's in their nature to lie to the customer, but I won't stand for it. You (the dealer) lie to me and you're going to either a) give me a once-in-a-lifetime deal on said car, or b) you're going to lose me and everyone else that I know for life as a customer. I could care less about your commission and shipping times or whatever other excuses they make for the delay. I'm seriously tempted right now to just go and order the same car at another dealer or two and see which one gets it first. Before anyone posts it, I don't buy the line from any dealer that says that's how long Impreza's took in the past (6-8 weeks), because that's a lie too. The 2012 models took the same 8-12 weeks, so there's no reason a salesman should continue to mislead people on purpose. Sorry about the rant. I know a lot of you are still waiting too. |

So, I opted to go with the Premium, and I'll buy the cross bars separately. No biggie. Really the only differences from the Premium and the Sport Premium are two tenths of an inch of ground clearance, the sport badge on the back, the seat material and floormats, and the built-in roof rack. I can always buy the badges and mats if I want, the seat material I could care less about, and I already addressed the roof rack. It's rather easy to get more ground clearance as well. Two tenths of an inch is not something 99.99% of people will notice. Don't get me wrong, I would have ordered a Sport myself, but no moonroof. |

Yeah. You can say that again. I actually stopped in at Grand Subaru on 7/17 and gave Joe my order. I distincltly remember that day because it was a Tuesday and I had started my masters classes the day before. Joe couldn't put the order in until 8/8, and he called me that day to verify to order, which I did happily. So, you've got a day on me! Have you heard anything yet about your order?

I waited 3 months to the day for my 2012 Sport Premium. Ordered and placed deposit on 4/20/12. Picked it up 7/20/12. The plate on the door frame even says Manufactured 04/2012. My dealer, Hasset Subaru, was great and kept in contact with me the whole time. I wanted what I wanted and was willing to wait. Now that I have it, I am in love. Everywhere I go, people ask me about my car.

Suspension: 4-wheel independent. Front: MacPherson strut type. Rear: Double-wishbone. Front and rear stabilizer bars. (2.0i: Front stabilizer bar only). So, all models except the base model seem to have both a front and rear stabilizer bar. Also, two minute differences between your sport and my premium are that for some reason, the navigation package is not an option for the Sport Premium (it IS an option for the Premium) and because I ordered the fog light kit I get chrome bezel surrounds for my fog lights, the Sport Premium does not have the chrome trim around the fogs. I got the AWP, fogs, moon roof, alloy wheel package (overall I like the 15-spoke rims a tad more than the rims on the sports), roof spoiler, and auto-dimming mirror with compass. I really wanted the sport premium, but at the time I didn't know about the leather wrapped steering wheel and leather shift knob on the '13's and I really had to have the moon roof. Overall, there's only 1 thing the sports have that I couldn't get upon delivery (besides the upholstery), and that was the two tenths of an inch height increase. I found a website that sells the sport rims, roof rack, badges, and floor mats that make the sport models unique. For me what it came down to at the time was this. Either I buy a Premium with a moon roof and the options I wanted or I lose the moon roof (and leather steering wheel and shift knob at the time) and get a Sport Premium. For me the choice was easy. It was cheaper to buy the premium and add-in the Sport options I wanted after the fact than to lose the moon roof and leather options at the time. Additionally, had I purchased the Sport Premium with everything I wanted and had the dealer or other party install a moon roof post-delivery it wouldn't be the same as having it from the factory. If I ever had warranty problems or problems with the moon roof Subaru might try to fight me or the dealer might give me a line, and in the end I'm not willing to deal with the extra headache that it might cause. Oh, and if you want to sell your roof rack, I call dibs! I'm sure we will both be very happy when our cars finally arrive. Oh, and I am pretty jealous that you have that hook-up with your cousin for the popular package! I'd like to get free stuff for knowing someone! Last edited by arsa13; 10-11-2012 at 01:36 AM. Anyone got comparison photos of the 2013 impreza with and without the side body moldings and front lip? Do they improve the looks noticeably?

The exteriors of the 2012 and 2013 are identical. Personally I don't see the point in the body side moldings, but there are many who do like the way they make the car look. For me, I don't care, and with the snow I get in my area of the country, I'm not going to invest more money into something that could potentially break off in a big storm! Quote:
My lucky number is 13, so I had to have a 2013. I specifically ordered a '13 just to have this model year. I avoided a similarly specked '12 right on the lot to order the '13. I also try to avoid new models of almost any product for the same reason- to work out the kinks. Anyone remember the AMD Athalon XP's and how they'd go up in smoke? Personally I just don't look at the mirrors. What I don't care for on the hatchback of the new Impreza is the boxiness of the rear end. It just looks wrong to me. My wife agrees, so I know I'm not the only one. I will order the roof carrier bars next year and install them when I start biking outside again. Just wanted to get you an easy sale in case you chose to get rid of the roof rack. Personally I like the fact that I can relatively easily install and remove the roof rack at will on the Premium. It doesn't look the same as on the Sport models, but imo it makes the car much easier to wash without them! Hope you get your Sport Premium soon! I absolutely hate this waiting game. I have the money... Let me pay you Subaru... Hint, hint! Last edited by arsa13; 10-11-2012 at 02:13 AM. |

Is 8-12 weeks now the standard wait for '13s?
My current junker '94 Chevy has already failed emissions once, so its going to the scrap yard in January when it fails the second time, I'm leaning towards a Sport Premium hatchback to replace it. I don't want the Impreza to show up months early, or have to drive my gas-hog SUV to work for a month or two while waiting for it. |
