So whats the word on next years UK seasons?
Any chance you'll be back to having some events again?
I have grave rumblings from many a friend about all sorts of nonsense involving political games with the organizations and challenges. I haven't got the full story from anyone yet and was hoping someone (john? ian?) might fill me in. Was rather hoping to come over again and run a few and do a little "bird watching" as it were. Looks like the US will gain 2 more manufacturers towards our fun little Pro series. And with Michelins gone looks like Dunlops will be the new tire around here to play with. I hear the Peugot challenge will be on Dunlops as well. Ed -still trying to decide who to co-drive for in 02.

Foot and Mouth is officially over. Horahhhhhhh
Foot in the mouth most definately is not! The established series like BTRDA and ANCRO are fighting fit and raring to go. It's looking very good for us having a full campaign in the BTRDA with our Escort Cosworth, it would be great if we can lead that series again like we did in 1999 but it will be hard work with a huge amount of active transmision WRC cars now in private hands over here. The BRC is a total mess though! The MSA, britains governing body sold the rights to the BRC to a guy who came up with the most rediculous proposals i have ever seen, including having no outright champion! Hello........ people are interested in people, not cars! (thats the majority anyway. ) This week the guy who bought the rights walked out and recinded his ownership because non of the event organisors would agree to his rediculous proposals. We now have a situation where we have the ANCRO series plus a new group made up of all the old BRC event organisors trying to get the MSA to allow them to be the oficial BRC series. What a mess! I am sure it will all work itself out but it's doing massive harm to the national level sport after a year of total anialation due to F&M. You guys think you have problems with the SCCA. The MSA is a bigger joke right now, believe me. :monkey: P.S My rally team won the Dunlop Tyres award for the best results on Dunlops in 1999. We took loadsa money from them. They arent as good a tyre as the Pirelli though and were a handicap to us. We are too poor to buy 8 new Pirellis an event though so Dunlops it was. |
