Me-Is it on any of you other subarus?

Me- There ya go buddy, you figured it out

My car 02 wrx with 160k miles.

One of my middle school friends saw my car.

Him: nice car what is it a Honda?
Me: uh if you want it to be that sure..
Him: we should race
Me: too bad I've got a Subaru.
Him: is that the engine?
Me: nevermind...

Then I started a new conversation. Away from cars lol

I got the "why do you have an extra radiator on top?" today. I attempted to explain the function of the intercooler to no avail.

Used to work at NAPA so of course me and my co-workers used to bust each other about their cars. One day this happened:

Me: How's your jetta running? (98 VR6)
Him: I raced a new 5.0 mustang and smoked him.
Me: You sure he was racing?
Him: Yep he flipped me off when I flew past him.
Me: You probably pissed him off cause you drive like a dick.
Him: Maybe, but at least I don't drive an Australian piece of ****.
Me: Who drives an Aussie car?
Him: You do, dumbass. You drive a WRX don't you.
Me: You need to quit this job. That's the most ignorant comment I've ever heard about my car. It's made in Japan.
Him: Yeah right, you wish.

I had to walk away at this point.

Yesterday I pulled up to the 7-11 next to my house and there were three kids about five years old standing outside. As I get out of the car, the kids run up to my car yelling

"That's the cool car! That's the cool car!"

I smile and say thanks and walk inside.

I come out and the kids are just staring at it and smiling.

I get in and my girlfriend tells me to rev it (she absolutely loves my subie and wants to get one herself)

I proceed to give it a few revs (I just installed my invidia downpipe to my q300 exhaust so it's pretty effing loud)

The looks on the kids' faces were priceless, they were jumping up and down screaming. It was awesome.

got bashed for posting about the top mount radiator on here but im gonna post again!!

met a new friend and we went to check out his new Shelby Mustang. I not a big fan of stangs but its still cool in my books. it sounded very nice. interior was nice also..

then we walked over to my WRX and I popped open the hood... immediatly he goes "what!?!? radiator on the top" i giggled a bit and said its my intercooler...

same night I was driving some people home.. "what size engine is this" ... 2.5 flat four.. "it doesnt feel like a 2.5, this car has balls"

week after that.." hey man i researched your cae, I want one now"

I had my hood popped in the garage the other day and my buddy points at my tial qr and asked if that was the turbo...I just laughed and said no.

It's almost as bad as my other friend who asked me if the alternator was my turbo...

summer tires do pretty well off road...unless it is real muddy/slick

ive had my car WAY off road in florida and texas many times with summer tires on it...ive pushed a 6" wave of sand with the bottom of the front bumper cover before

had the rednecks REALLY scratchin their heads with that one

Got a new bed and had it strapped to the roof-rack (with a spare box spring from the bed seller's dumpster on the bottom for support). I pulled into a gas station and had a guy on the inside AND a guy on the outside on the way out ask me the same thing: "is that for when you flip it over?!". We all chuckled, but I laughed a little harder the second time in 5 minutes I was asked

Before I joined the Air Force I had a job where I made about 50k yearly and bought a 350z used. I was amazed with the ridiculousness when I went to the dorms and E3s were buying brand new 370zs, Camaros, and Mustangs.

A major I worked under had TWO TWO Nissan GTRs. One modded one stock. Right now as a contractor there are 3 Lotus Elise and one Evora at my building, all driven by pilots. So I can see where she may get this idea from. The kids like to spend 100% their paycheck on a car and the officers who can afford them buy awesomeness.

Pulled into taco bell, sat down with my buddy after ordering..

older guy comes up

Guy: hey son, what on earth is hanging from the back of your car??

Me: it's called a tow hook,

Guy: you damn kids and your foreign sports cars... American muscle is the way to go.

I watched him after he ate, he got into the bottom line automatic Camero, drives off and manages to hit the curb on the way out.. Classy...
