Default Does anyone have dealer invoice prices on the 08 WRX ???

One local dealer is telling me there’s only about 600 dollars markup on a 5-Door WRX w/ premium package and that’s all he has to work with.
Even showed me the printouts in the book.

Edmunds shows about 1500
MSRP 26,950 vs Invoice of 25,400

Does anyone have official numbers yet on the 08?

Thanks,
Shawn S

http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/wrxsti2008.html

2008 WRX, STI 5 door wagon
your purchase price may vary due to rebates, incentives, dealer markup or discounts
Subject to change, correction.

WRX Premium wagon, manual transmission, VDC

MSRP +$645 destination
suggested list price
$26,950 +$645 = $27,595

invoice + $645 destination
$25,400 +$645 = $26,045

Keep in mind they get something like 1500 bucks per vehicle to cover operating costs while the vehicle is sitting on the lot. If you are buying that the day they are arriving, that's money in the pocket.

I would not trust anything the dealer tells you. Just keep shopping around they will give you a deal. I imagine early on they would like to get some of them on the road to be seen by as many as possible. Sorry I don't have an answer to your question but good luck.

I show MSRP at $27,595
and invoice at $26,220
these are with destination included which you can't get around...
so $1375 markup

Hey, here's a novel idea: I bet it depends on the dealership & region.

I think the OP has a good question.
Every dealership has their own mark up they want, but what are they paying for the car to be there? If you know that before you go shoping you can see who is trying to screw you over and who is giving you a great price!
MSRP, suggested price, means nothing. I might be wrong but dealerships who buy more from SOA would pay less for each car, correct? Buying power.

Incorrect,it is illegal for a car maker to sell cars to one dealer for less than another............

Maybe if they're buying the same amount of cars, but if one dealer buys one car and another buys five, the manufacturer can sell the dealer buying five each car at a lower price than the dealer buying one. I work for a company that literally buys hundreds of cars at a time and have seen this first hand with cars and equipment through Ford, Toyota, GM, etc.

yes, when COMPANIES buy more, but not dealers from car makers, two different things entirely..........are you in the car business?I am and have been for over twenty five years now.........dealers have franchise agreements and its right in those agreements that all dealers buy the cars at the same prices.........no matter how many they buy at a time....

I recommend talking to the internet sales guys at your local dealerships. I met with the internet guy and within the first minute he SHOWED me the msrp and the invoice. Then he said they can even take out the dealer holdbacks. He claimed internet guys jobs are to get a car off the lot. He gets paid the same whether he sells it for over msrp or under invoice.

He called yesterday about the new 08's and quoted me a 5-door at $24,300....with the premium package!

I now have some financial decisions to make

That’s a great price.
Is that with the delivery fee?

I hear what you saying about us internet guys(I am an one@at a Subaru dealership)being paid to move units,we are,BUT,I would double check that quote you have.At $24,300,if that includes destnation, that dealership is losing money to sell that car.Even with destination added to that price, its a GREAT deal though!

I am not sure to be honest. He said he could sell it for that amount...so I ASSume that it is in there. After telling me he can take out the holdback, he has no reason to not tell me about a delvery fee.

As for them losing money...I don't care They are the highest volume dealer in the states...so I think they get great deals from Subaru.
