Post Is there any way to make the side markers blink and stay on constantly?

Well, the title says it all, is it possible?
I may be able to figure it out (I'm an electrical engineering major) but I would need a diagram of the stock wiring or something. Has anyone already done this? Anyone have a diagram? Thanks for the help.
I think this would be a nice mod . . .

I was wondering this too or is there a way to get them to blink when the turn signals are on?

That's a definate "I want to race" sign. Especially if your going to put a blue bulb or hyperwhites in there. That being said, I would like to know also.

Connect a wire to the +12 end of the parking light and run this wire to your sidemarker. Cut the chassis ground wire from your sidemarker bulb and connect the parking light wire to the ground side of the sidemarker bulb.

The sidemarker should blink normally if the parking light is off and will blink alternately with your front and rear blinkers when your parking light is on.

PS: I am not resposible for any damage you may cause to your car

subieboy, you risk damaging your car any time you screw with the electrical system... there was a guy who tried the mod to "detach" the fogs from the lo-beam switch and fried his entire wiring harness.. last I heard his car wouldn't run. dont f*** with the electrical system in your car unless you know what you are doing.

Actually that should work and if any Damage will occur it'll be a blown fuse or bulb!! Just keep trying the single and on style for a while test the wires for heat and if cool put back together! if not use a thicker gauge line! or wait cause I'm trying to gewt this mod going on my00

Wouldn't you have to change the sidemarker bulb to a dual filament since it will stay on constantly and blink as well? just $.02

No you wouldn't because they are trying to make it blink on and off still, not brighter and dimmer... but that would be a considerably easier way to do it... replace the socket and bulb with dual filament and then wire up the second filament to the parking lights... the lights go on when the parking lights are on and blink brighter with the turn signals...

I was about to post that, too. Use dual filament bulbs and sockets. Hook one wire to the parking light wire, aother to the signal wire, and the last one to the ground wire. I think that's the easiest.

doesn't seem like this would be too difficult of a mod...and wouldn't it just blow out the bulb first??? cuz it shouldn't generate that much heat cuz that bulb is tiny

this is pretty slick and has more technical terms than I want to think about right now... but i glanced over it and it looks pretty sound.. might need a little editing since we are doing the opposite of the VW's...

Now that I read and understand the instruuctions there, and re-read rudypoo's post, they are the same thing... read and follow rudypoo's instructions instead of trying to figure out how to change teh bently-specific instructions to fit our cars. should take, oh, a half hour to do.

Ok, gotta Rant-

First off I think alot of you new guys are using the "R" word WAY too much. Is my memory bad, or is that still a no-no around here? And second, if you don't like it, don't do it. This thread was friendly and mature until you posted on it. Please think before you post. I personaly wouldn't do this mod, but I think it is cool that other people want to express themselves this way, and I wouldn't put them down for it.

End of rant.

Buck

Rudypoo was the 3rd or 4th person to reply to this thread, his instructions just didnt make sense to me without having read the instructions i had linked to... but they are easier to do that try to adapt the linked directions to our cars.

Thumbs up

Right on "Flent"
I'd have to agree with you there about the "*******" look. Side marker lights are not meant to stay on. When was the last time you saw a BMW, MB, AUDI, or any of the German machines with their factory side markers constantly on Buck They are used as turning signals only
But true Buck, that people should express themselves, but if you are trying to copy the factory look of the Big Boys, please get it right.

How would you wire it up to make the front corner light blink alternately to the bumper indicator?
