So Im having some issues here guys:

Got a CEL after filling up yesterday. Ran it: "Catalyst somethingorrather Below Threshold" ... erased it, wasnt too worried Ive always ran no cats on my cars and figured Ill just get the cats taken out soon.

Then pulled the car into a bay at work right before close. Pulled a rattling heat shield off the exhaust mani. Got in, reved it to see if the rattle was gone, then pulled it out back and parked it.

Closed up at work and got on my way home. Came up on a red light pressed the clutch and brake in to come to a stop and car died as Im rolling to a stop. Thought maybe I didnt have the clutch in all the way ans stalled it ... I cam of course new to driving 5-speed.

Next time I try to stop same deal, RPMS drop and shuts off not stalls. So then I notice that when the RPMS fall if I shift into neutral it doesn't die. Gears shift fine and everything. When Im at a stop I can hold the clutch and brake in with it in gear and no issues.

Now I am new to driving 5-speed so needless to say the clutch hasnt been on my good side lately, but please dont tell me I could have burnt out the clutch from just a couple stalls and some rough shifting?

Clutch issue went away, no problems since. Not sure, leaning toward a sticky throttle plate. But dunno.

Anyway, dropped it off at the dealer today to have the recalled front control arms looked at. Apparently they were so rusted that they could not let the vehicle leave until it is repaired ... at least thats what they tell me. They set me up with a rental from enterprise, paid for by them of course.

So now Im stuck with this POS for the next week to two weeks ...

Oh and the Tsudo cat-back should be here tomorrow. Will be installed as soon as its back from the dealer with its crispy new control arms.

Plans are to work my way up the car from there ... Stromung HFC cat pipe, Borla or Borla knock-off headers, hybrid intake inspired by Thegoldenfist's setup, then maybe the red intake mani from an STI, but not sure about that one gotta do some research and see if there is a reasonable difference.

Nice! makes me kinda miss my old 05 rs. Coilovers would be a great start for this! they respond very well to suspension upgrades but don't expect much for power gains.

Nah Im pretty much going to do the exhaust and intake stuff, then work on the suspension bits ans exterior stuff here and there.

If I want to make her a powerhouse Ill probably just do an entire STI swap If I want to put the time and effort into that route

Hey Keith,

Don't let the others get you down about your past cars, you seem proud of them and I thinks that is great!
I look forward to see where you end up going with this car. Good luck!!

Nice looking car, I like the dark blue. Didnt know they changed some of the interior from the rs and the wrx. Just notice that the ac control nobs are different than my 05 wrx.

So today is one week from when I dropped the impreza off at the dealer for recall work

Called them today ... they are still waiting on the control arms.

I want my car back already!!

Anyway as you may or may not know I work for VIOC, my buddy who is the manager of a nearby store and the guy who runs a local Volkswagen wrench spot called me to see if I could work at his store for a day next week on my day off, I told him sure if I could get on his lift for free to get the exhaust installed. So thats all set to go once I get my baby back.

Wicked easy. You use #3 first this is where the majority of the work is done so take you time here but you apply it and use a cloth (I use a cordless drill and buff wheel) and work you way over the whole lens. Then wipe away any access and use #2 in circles with a lint free cloth. Repeat #3 and #2 until satisfied and then finish with the #1 polish.

Took me about 45mins this morning

So Ive been noticing that when in 5th gear at cruising speed, there is a jingling noise like loose change coming from the shifter
Got to work early today so I pulled the shift knob off ... and guess what ... it was loose change lol. 16 cents to be exact

Changed the oil yesterday
Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic, nice new drain plug as well

Been thinking a lot about where I want to go next with the car. I was going to save up the money Ive been getting from scrapping and buy coil-overs with some of my tax return next year but it looks like Im going to be spending it on a timing belt kit (Z1 kit includes the belt, tensioner, idlers, water pump, thermostat, and v-belts plus all the necessary seals gaskets and hardware ... I think Im going to go with that)
Then it looks like Im gonna see if I can pick up a set of steel wheels with snows since these wheels are def. not going to be safe for next winter, I always see em pop um on craigslist with like %80 tread left for pretty reasonable prices.

Then Ill focus again on coilovers or maybe a UEL header and HF cat pipe first ... dunno yet

Did a fuel system cleaning today at work. Hand cleaned all the carbon out of the throttle body (Man was that dirty), did the intake drip into booster line, and finished up with injector cleaner in with the fuel.

Car had a hard time taking all the cleaner in, idled hard and almost died a couple times, thats never happened to me before on any car Ive done it on, but after taking in about half the can and filling the store with a rotten egg smell, my suspicions are confirmed that my cat is pretty clogged. Need to finished off the exhaust and get the header and HFC pipe to eliminate that old cat. But first I need to get a timing belt kit and a winter wheel/tire setup.

Anyway, def. noticed a difference in the car, not a crazy improvement but definitely more eager in acceleration for sure. Need to see if my MPGs improve at all as well.

Decided to add a few more accessory outlets, so I got all my mod stuff out and went to town ...

What doo we have here?

...Oh hello

Came out pretty good, things could have been a bit cleaner and aligned properly but oh well

All I need is to figure out how to wire it in. Im thinking I can wire it into the stock plug. By assuming that the red and black wires coming out of the plug are the main power wires (red being positive and black being negative) I can wire the the outlets into there (black wire with white stripe being positive and plain black being negative). Will this work out??
