PIAA Silicone Wipers and pitted windshield
How do they hold up and perform on a pretty bad pitted windshield? Just want some feedback if possible since they're really soft, I wouldn't want them damaged. I don't know if I should drop ~$70 (Canada, eh?) for a pair.
Thanks!

PIAA is super overpriced. Go with Bosch Micro Edge Excels. Best damn wiper blade money can buy!

Most any type of rubber will wear off alot faster if your windsheild is pitted....doesnt really matter.
I;d replace the windsheild first if its that bad or just buy cheap blades every few months. |

PIAA super silicones are the BEST wipers I've ever used. Sure they're about $20 each, but they lasted me about 3 years of strek-free awsome wiping. the silicone wiper will last a LOT longer than any rubber wiper. I used to have Bosch Micro-edge Excels, they were great at first, but after about 6-8 months, I'd have to replace them since the sun and weather deteriorates them... and I live in So Cal.
I'm not sure how pitted your winshield is, but I used the PIAAs on my 1987 BMW with OE winshield and they worked great. Also, Silicone won't wear as much as rubber since silicone naturally has a much lower coefficient of drag. (thus silicone lubricant...) |

Clean the windshield well with "Bon-Ami".... and THEN put new blades on....if they chunk after that...replace the glass.

Basically when they start smearing pretty bad. There's real no formula as different environments affect the timing of new wiper blade replacement
