Default The Shop CT's 2013 SSM Subaru BRZ Limited.

So over the last few months we have been very preoccupied with our 9Sec (Soon to be 8Sec) Shop GTR. Now that we have gotten to a point in that project where we have some time to focus elsewhere, we have decided to go back to our roots (Subaru). With that said, we purchased a brand new 2013 Sterling Silver Metallic Subaru BRZ Limited. We are planning to broaden the horizons for HP & TQ gain's while maintaining the amazing handling that the BRZ comes with from the Factory.

We have already started taking measurements for the Turbo Kit as well as ordered "Basic" Suspension components. Our intention is to apply each product (Springs, Swaybars, Endlinks, and then switch to Coilovers) to identify what works best. I will keep everyone informed on updates as we progress our way through this project.

Here are some Photo's so far...

Added: 18x8 +48 OZ Superleggera's & Eibach Springs.

*Update* Our friends over at Turn 14 and Perrin Performance hooked us up with a Catback Exhaust System. Unfortunately I was on my way out so I didn't get a sound clip yet for you guy's but I was able to snap some pictures of the product and the install.

So first thing's first we removed our Factory Exhaust System.

Here is the complete system (Out of the car)

*Notice* The Factory Exhaust System has a "pinch" just past the res for clearance.

Now that our Factory System has been removed we opened our Package from Perrin to find...
Perrin's Catback Exhaust System

Complete with Hardware and V-band clamps

As well as all the little goodies they send you ; )

Here are a few "close up" shots of the exhaust

Now it's time for the install.

Properly test fit

Then Fasten V-Band Clamp

Thanks for sharing your updates on the Perrin exhaust. I would love to hear/see videos on the sound and such. Also, how does the Perrin exhaust compare in weight to the stock system?

It is about the same weight as the stock system with the resonator as shown in those pictures. the one without the resonator is about 12 lbs lighter. Would be interested in independent dyno numbers from just the catback.

Psmboxer - Yes sir, Perrin Catback & Agency Power Headers and Over Under Pipe are in the mail. We are hoping to accomplish everything by the weekend.

I'll give you guy's an update tomorrow with some sound clip's.

Tisk tisk. You should always open your package and inspect it for missing parts before beginning an install.

Great looking car.. love the 18" Superleggeras and Perrin did a great job choosing tips to fit the car.

Anyone know the diameter of the Perrin tips? Just wondering how they compare to the JDM GT-86 OEM tips.. which are 86mm.

*Update* UPS Delivering their daily dosage of happiness wrapped in cardboard...

As expected, our Injen Intake for the BRZ has arrived!

Now a complete shot of all the parts included.

Injen did a great job w/ Wrinkle Black finish. It adds a "humble presence" in the engine bay.

Again for the craftsmanship...

One more for good measures!

I have to leave the shop early today so, the "install" and "finished product" pictures will have to wait till tomorrow.

Let us know what you guy's think!

So unfortunately yesterday I was unable to make it to the shop. Never the less, I walked in this morning to lots of progress made on the BRZ. I was unable to get the step by step photos of the Intake install but I made sure to take photo's that would show the products fitment in the vehicle.

Injen Intake.

Overhead shot (showing fitment with pulley's).

Close up of the box.

Again, Perfect fitment by Injen. (They did a great job with this product).

Now finally I have a Dyno Graph for you guy's based on the last 4 modifications we have done and the tuning in between.

Run 2(Red) - Stock
Run 12(Blue) - Tune Only (ECUTek)
Run 19(Green) - Tune w/ Catback Exhaust (Perrin)
Run 27(Purple) - Tune w/ Catback Exhaust & Intake (Perrin/Injen)

Teaser for next week...(Lachute & Agency Power Header Showdown, Then E85 N/A Map)

**More importantly, We (at The Shop) have decided to host a FREE DYNO DAY w/ FREE Door Prizes, FREE Food, and FREE DYNO's ALL DAY!!! for all our BRZ / FR-S Owners!!!**
September 22, 2012
More info coming soon!

I find it interesting how much you picked up in the "dip" after adding the intake. I wonder if it was an intake restriction, or just an overall restriction that you cleared up.

Or did you change a tuning strategy?

Have you had any "bogging" issue with the intake? People seem to be reporting issues with both the AIRAID and Injen intakes; seemingly with no reason in who has problems and who doesn't.

It was air restriction. There are several restricted air path's in the factory intake. With the new intake those were cleared up and with the help of the catback, this is where we got most of our gains.

Glad we were able to help, that is the sole purpose of this thread is to "inform" our customers/enthusiast about what products/parts produce the best results. Stay for more.

So far the few times I have driven the car the "driveability" has been perfect. If I have time this week I will go out with Botti Tuning and take a video for you guys.

Nice info in this thread. I'm really curious about lachute's products. I really like their exhaust and would like to get their full setup eventually. Please post a video of their header when you get a chance!
