Default My new 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i 5-door

Well, I just picked up my new car today from Premier Subaru in Branford, CT. It's a Newport Blue Pearl Impreza 2.5i 5-door with a 5-speed manual. This is my first stick shift, and I must say, it's a great time to drive. This car is so much fun to drive. It's a base model, yes, but I'm having a great time with it. I don't have any interior pictures yet; I'll hopefully get some tomorrow.

So, I've only owned this car for about 36 hours and I already am in love with it. I know it needs tints and wheels and rear disc brakes and all that, but truth is I don't have the money to modify my car right now, so she's gonna stay nice and stock for now.

But, thanks to all for their well wishes. I'm really loving this car... it feels so tiny compared to my Buick. This car, and the grille especially, look a lot better when you're in person. Meanwhile, driving is so much fun now . I've grabbed a few pictures of the interior, so here we go. Sorry for the mismatched floormats; I'm using ones from an older car until I can get some rubber mats for the winter so I don't ruin my Ivory (tan) interior.

The Newport Blue looks really good. It's probably the nicest color that Subaru currently offers. The interior appears bright and spacious but, as you said, that light tan carpet will be tough to keep clean. Subaru should've offered a black or gray interior with the Newport Blue exterior. In fact, I think that combo was available on the '07 2.5i. Either way, nice car. Best of luck with it.

Not knocking your car, but I really don't like that two tone interior. Give me the all black interior, please.

nope, the WRX and 2.5i have a sedan model in north america only, and the STi is only hatch. Everywhere else in the world 2.5i and WRX are 5-door only. They made them for us because America doesn't like hatchbacks...

Yup

Colour is a little washed out, but it wasn't the best camera and a VERY sunny day.

By the way, I like the odd look of everything being tan, including the shift knob. This is coming from someone who likes accents like white french cuffs on a black suit.

Well, I've finally driven my car in the snow and I have to say holy God is this car fun in the snow. I was doing perfect all-wheel-drive drifts in the snow without even trying, just coming out of a corner it would get sideways, and I would dial in opposite lock like I was taught at Skip Barber this summer caught the car and drove away nice and straight. I've never, ever, had such a smile on my face after driving. I can't wait for 3 or 4 inches and no plows.

On a slightly sadder note, I just sent away the title to the old Buick this car replaced. I really had an attachment to that old car, and seeing it go when Habitat for Humanity picks it up will hurt. But it's going to a good cause, and that's what matters.

On a happier note, more pictures. One final picture with the camera-phone, then a bunch with my Minolta Z6:

Nope. Only VA and DC.

Nice car - the color looks great, and I like the tan interior - makes it seem very open inside.

Enjoy it

Nice car and nice pics.

I like the two tone interior. Black carpet aren't exactly easy to keep clean either because most dirt and debris turn out to be lighter colors.

Even though the wheel is steelie with a cover, I like the design of the cover better than the 16" alloy on the higher model. It'd be nice if they made the alloy wheel with this design.

Enjoy.

They are unpainted only on basic models. Premium package comes with painted door handles/mirrors. I was going to get basic myself, but then I discovered, that for just $1500 plus I'm getting rear disc brakes, VDC/TC, fog lights, 10-speaker sound, painted handles/mirrors, alloy wheels etc. Brakes and VDC are the most valuable things to get premium, the rest is nice to have but isn't necessary.

Congrats on your new car, I myself enjoy every minute driving it(came from 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S)
