Here is the sound after 10 min. 30 miles on built motor. Don't take another guy's word for it when they say the lash is already set. It also got a torqued performance tune today. Still tweaking the map

Mmm! So very clean! Good work.

Yesterday over at CCA Motorsport I got help swapping in my Koni struts with RCE Yellow springs, 2011 WRX rear sway bar (thicker than my stock BRZ one), and SPC control arms for the rear. Now I gotta schedule an alignment.

I failed to recall that I also had SPC rear toe arms until after I was already well into the front struts.

Also I had to clean out my GrimmSpeed cold air intake. I believe I purchased it November of 2014 and never even cleaned it ONCE... I got a CEL, but now that it's cleaned and oiled, I'm hoping it'll go away with enough miles driven (which I haven't, between CCA, home, then work today).

Also Andrew was nice enough to wash my engine bay. It hadn't been cleaned for a year.

Update:

CEL went off! Whew! That was a close one! Gotta remember to clean that thing regularly.

I do like to keep it clean under the hood. One of the upsides of having to pull the motor-3 times in the last 6 months.

I just installed the 2008 Perrin rear lock down kit. I was changing the last of the "break in" oil and since the car was on stands ....

Slightly more road noise. I could tell a difference on the drive to Seward today. Almost non stop twisties from the Russian river to exit glacier. It was hard to not to get a ticket today. Made a nice package with the group n motor mounts, group n Trans mount , white line tranny crossmember bushings, and kart boy shifter bushings. I almost got a 15' Wrx rear sway bar for 50$ off of eBay but got into a pissing match over shipping after the seller waited a week. I'll find another.

I did the wife's when I got home last night, going to try to get the new sensors cloned this weekend and then make an appointment to have the summers mounted on the new wheels. There is still lots of slick spots between here and work though so im going to wait until last possible day to change them over.

Changed my tires over 2 days ago, and this morning someone got a bath. Then, a complete wipe down to take off all the road tar and chemicals. Three hours later... she's like she rolled off the factory floor. This weekend's mission is to make the interior match, LOL.

Well finally getting some useful Gage's installed Oil pressure/Temp and AFR's help with monitoring the car. WRX has been doing ok just using more oil then normal. Maybe getting time to get it rebuilt again, this time it will be complete long block.

New member here...I couldn't make my own thread yet. I'm in Anchorage an led have a 2016 mustang GT, but am considering going back to school in Fairbanks and I think a STi would be a little better suited to that area. I love taking long drives and most of the miles on my car are from the parks and dalton highways.

I have a brand new set of 215/55/18 tires, any chance to squeeze these onto a 2016 sti? Also do these cars hold decent value up here, and do the dealers in anchorage or Fairbanks have much incentive to sell less then msrp when ordering from the factory.

Again! How many miles on this one ? Stage 2 or what ? I have a spare short block for mine but I'm hoping to get more than 20k miles out of it this time.

Keep the mustang. Youll lose money on the trade in and unless you plan on keeping it stock you'll lose your warranty. These cars tend to spin rod bearings and replacing the motor isn't cheap even if you do the work. Buy a little 4wd truck for the heavy snow days

Well it was built by Cobb back in 2012 have about 30k maybe little more on the motor. Also could be due the the cold temps and me having my block bored 100mm and cp Pistons. Found out that there just a little bit smaller than the bore size to allow for expansion. We guessing that's where the oil is getting lost. Compression test came back good so. I'll let it ride till it goes again. Stage 2 no good sir it's well beyond that lol. If I was to list everything to the car it would take a full day. I'm hopping to possible invest in a new turbo my td05-20g is maxed out so no more room.

NOPE! I was quoted above msrp on a new FXT in Anchorage with a long lead time for ordering and very little selection (one car) in state. I was able to negotiate below invoice for a new one from WA. I'll be saving money even including $1,500 shipping from Seattle.

Today we did some work to make this baby handle that much better. New sway bars, front and rear, rear endlinks, and new shifter bushing. All in all, fun 2 hours to the morning.

I did my sway bar when Cobb was still selling the 2014 one ( since it still fits the 2015 ) but never did the front. Curious to know how that works out. I also did my endlinks and love them.
Two seconds away from getting the shifter bushing, but, the gear lever is stiff as it is, couldn't justify it. (=

Today I detailed my WRX-swapped 2000 LGT LTD for the last time and as it is now for sale in Anchorage. It has certainly received a few second takes from WRX and STI owners in town. Anyways, $100 to anyone who refers a buyer to me. Perhaps someone here knows an enthusiast looking for a sleek project car.

I am really enjoying the new sway's on my Rex, really stiffened the entire body up. Taking corners at speed the car feels very flat and it feels much more in control. I did not do the front end links, just the rear ones... but will most likely get around to it once I save up a little bit more.
