I'm gonna be installing a short shifter soon.. Anyone have any tips? Opinions on how different it feels vs the stock shifter?

It's beautiful. So smooth and precise, especially once you install the front and rear bushings. I highly recommend doing this since you're going to be down there anyways.

Which ss are you installing?

Thanks, yeah I already have front bushings installed, this time around I'm changing the rear bushing n shifter. Would I have to get under the car to install the rear bushings?

I have kartboy front bushing n I'm going to install torque solutions ss with their rear bushing

Nice!

Yeah, definitely will be under the car for the rear bushings. It's not so bad in a 2011, but it was a PITA in my buddy's 99 RS coupe. We were always either hitting our hands or turning screw 1mm at a time. We did his first and then mine and he was piiisssed because mine was relatively easy! haha

You'll like the fact that you wont have to guess which brake callipers you have, your drivers seat wont rock, there's no F-hose to donate blood to when changing, and you wont go to sleep at night fearing your k04 will sound like a kazoo in the morning when it eats itself.
.....but I miss my S4...
Guess my 11' wrx will get me by :-)

I ordered the STI 5-speed Subaru SS when I ordered my car in July of 2010. I prefer it because it retains the stock height of the shifter. This works for me because I lean back a little in my seat and I don't have long arms.

40% sounds crazy!

TiC Holy Shift Kit in yesterday. Anyone who says they can't tell the difference is smoking crack. What a big difference. Can't believe I waited 10,000 miles to do it. Now I just have to get a SS at some point.

wanna try something... garage door seal as a front lip (i know its been done), wanna try doing that under the side skirts and rear bumper (like fins). Also carbon warp the roof spoiler. similar to this (press the link) but of course on a hatch wrx... opinions?

Hahaha. Speaking of that.. All the stage 3 s4 parts are for sale!! RSK04s. RS4 ICs. RS4 cams. Stage 3 fueling. Everything must go!! If you know anyone that wants to take their S4 to stage 3 on a budget have them message me! Also didn't have to worry about the calipers. Stop techs for sale too!!! Less than 1k miles on new pads and rotors! Haha

INTERNET TOUGH GUYS? LOL

From personal experience with three different 08+ subies w/ short shifters, one with front/rear, one with front, and one without bushings - It really doesn't feel much different and I think it is a waste of money to do either of the bushings. The short shifter itself gives you the feel that you want and the bushings are a waste of money. I am not saying that the bushings don't change the feel, I am saying that they are unecessary as the SS gives you a great feel by itself and it tightens everything up on its own.

Does anyone have a write up on how to wire the fogs to go on with the corner lights. I've been searching all over with no results.

I was just down in colorado, and stopped by heuberger to grab some oil filters. I looked at all the '12s lined up next to the '11s and I have to admit, the headlights actually look pretty good in person.

I'd have to say they definitely look better in person. Pics don't do it justice, however I still like my '11 housing better!

You're the dude that commented on my youtube vid! Sounds like you already know what you want man. If that sedan has a cbe with resonator and the sedan mufflerless axleback, you will want a resonated midpipe and a hatch axleback section with no muffler. Nameless has made at least one of these.

These don't show the entire CBE, but you get the idea
