Default Tampa Area WRX community

Hi all, So I stopped at Mastro last night on the way to a friend's house, and I was talking to Sean and he said they have sold about 7 WRXs since I bought mine. (less then 2 weeks ago)Even if he inflated the number,I mean, I think selling 1 a week is good. Where the heck are all these WRXs in Tampa???? (when I say Tampa, I mean Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, the whole area).

I know there's no real answer to this question, I just haven't seen them on the road. But, I'm out driving all the time, and I just don't see them.

My buddies coworker bought a silver one on Friday.

I have seen 3 WRX's in Pinellas County.

1) Silver sedan, driven by a lady that looks to be in her mid 60's.

2) Blue sedan, driven by a guy in his mid 70's

3) Blue Sedan, Driven by a kid that looks like a white thug.

- Mike

P.S. I did see about a week ago a blue wagon with Gold P7's.. Not sure who drives that.

Spotted couple sendans in last few weeks: 1 black and 1 silver, both of them in the middle of Ulmerton 8AM traffic, so did not get a clear look who was driving.

Last week also have seen blue wagon on Gandy Blvd right before I-275.

I just got mine from Mastro abouit 3 weeks ago...just hit 1000 miles!

I saw another Blue sedan yesterday on Dale Mabry and a silver sedan on Bruce B. Downs. (BTW, mine still has a temp tag)

There seem to be a lot. We should have a local Tampa meet.

here's mine:

That was me that you spotted on Dale Mabry, I was actually referring to your car with temp tags in my reply.

Your car looks really good with those wheels and the OEM body kit. Remember to always drive it like you stole it.

I've had a silver WRX for about a year now - mostly in Clearwater / Dunedin / Palm Harbor but I'm occasionally in Tampa/St. Pete.

I saw a blue WRX headed to the beach this morning - we waved at each other. Also saw a silver WRX at Sunday's PCA autocross, but he left early before I got to talk to him.

Cool, I'm glad you guys are seeing more then I've seen, I was beginning to worry, hehe. That's what we need, too. A hot brunette chick to chase. Motivation.

SCCA60: Looks good, I'm tempted to get those wheels, but still not sure. I've also been looking for a nice split 5-spoke.

And I heard Eibach hasn't put out springs for the WRX, yet? I find that hard to believe. I need to check into that .

I am from Hernando County, work in Pasco county, and frequent the Tampa area often. I see WRX's from time to time in Pasco and Hillsborough. We should have a meet sometime so we all can put faces to these names!! Talk to ya later -KEVIN-

Plas:

They are 18x8 superleggeras and they are VERY light (the whole package weighs about the same as the stock setup).

It took me and Pete from Mastro 3 weeks to find them in Grey (all they had was gold). I believe I got the last set in North America until June.

SCCA,

These are not the lightes wheels on the market, they weight 17lbs comparing to stock 16.5lbs (i think), but they are very nice wheels...I know I like them.

Plas,
If you are looking for wheels I will recomed these, they are not the lightes, but are very strong, also not the cheapest, so if you want them be ready to spend some $$$

Kevin,
I am with you on the meet, anybody else...we can get something orginized in few weeks..

Rolling Rex:

I agree...The SSR comps are lighter (and lighter than stock!), but are about $80 more per wheel than what I got.

I can live with the O.Z. superleggera especially since they cost the same as the O.Z. P1's but are around 4 lbs. lighter and 1/2 inch wider (see tirerack.com). I was originally going to get the P1's until I found this out.

I'm in on a local get-together...I seem to remember some local radio station sponsoring some sort of show/gaterhing at Dale Mabry and Flecher on fridays or saturdays..are they still doing that?

I understand you can live with OZ Sl's, I can live with them as well
Until you showed up I think I was the only one to roll around the area on these wheels , so it is nice to see that more pple are starting to believe in these...(hmmm...I am not going to be the only one... )

As far as the meet goes, I am not sure about the radio station organized get-together...if it is still going on I would think it will involve bunch of pple (which is good) with bunch of different cars (not so good). I was thinking more in the lines of a meet of us i-clubbers suby owners...

Anybody has any ideas/suggestions - when? where?....
