Wow, that's dang impressive for your puny little 2 liter
Sorry I haven't PM'd you back, been kinda busy lately. I might have time this weekend and would still like to check out your car. You should post a picture of the dyno readout if you can. And I'm also curious to know what's in the Cobb stage 2. They have nothing about it on their website. |

corrected
the SAE 1.24 means there is a 24% "correction" factor added to the #'s. if they did not give you one with a SAE of 1.0 i would go back and ask them to print that one. What are your mods
there was a bunch of wrx's and a couple evos that dynoed there a while back my wrx, which is now dismantled and sold, dynoed at 250 hp, 255 tq uncorrected. cnstman |

If those are the corrected numbers then that's what I got w/ my Vishnu Stage 0 WRX as well.

i haven't had my car dynoed at yer same place as I live in Utah, but I had my Cobb Stg 2 WRX dynoed at Cobb right after being flashed and with just an uppipe/downpipe and prodrive muffler hit at 219.X whp and 219.X ft/lbs.
i've since added replaced the last two stock pipes with stromung 2.5" 3rd cat elminator and 2.5" rear midpipe, and added STI engine and tranny mounts, so should be hitting a "little" higher these days, but I'm jealous of yer higher torque numbers... what other mods do you have? Or what exhaust are you running? Maybe that's the difference, my Prodrive isn't known for much in the line of gains. |

The only mods that are on my car are, Bosal DP, Helix UP, and Reflashed to stage 2. 3rd cat remains along with the rest of the factory exhaust. Yeah I was a little suprised of the tq numbers myself. I think I would be getting a little more power with the full exhaust. Maybe another 5-10hp?

Hmm, i've got a PDE uppipe and the same downpipe (bosal)... sounds like either your car's a bit stronger, Cobb's changed the map a little since my flash, it has something to do with elevation, or maybe there's just a difference in the dyno calculations.
Either way, congrats and enjoy! |

what i am saying is that they take the actual hp and tq numbers and add 24% to them across the board. so the numbers are inflated by 24% over the actual measured hp and tq. your curves are still the same, the numbers are just higher.

Correct me if I'm wrong (no pun intended), but they add the correction factor to compensate for elevation, right?

Nobody wants to see corrected numbers since they are seriously inflated for turbos when using NA correction factors - for turbos add 6% in your head if you really need to know the sea-level potential.

Uncorrected
the "correction factor" for NA cars is around 24%, the correction factor for forced induction cars is around 6%.
to be safe just use the uncorrected factors, that is what your car is ACTUALLY putting down. |

The SAE J1349 relative horsepower correction does NOT just compensate for altitude. It also factors in temperature, humidity, and other atmospheric conditions. This is meant to allow cars dynoed on different days to be compared on a level playing field.
The flaw in the equation, as pointed out above, is that turbocharged cars are not effected as much by elevation and the results become inflated. |
