So the next big challenge I had was how to tension my alternator belt. This is what I came up with.

First I got a belt that was a close fit.

Second I got a straight piece of steel and made a bunch of funny bends and ground down some spots till it fit the way I wanted.

Third I put a sharpie in the mounting hole on the alternator and pivoted it up and down to show me where in needed to cut.

Then I cut out where the sharpie marked and put a bolt in to check fitment.

After that I painted the bracket and used a pry bar to push up the alternator till the belt was tight then I tightened up the bolt.

I won't be done the auto/diesel program till February 2015 but I haven't decided if I want to take anything after that yet. So far my only real plans is to move back to Alaska when I'm done.

WTF dude, I swear every time I check your updates the build goes up one more level of awesome. This sets a ridiculously high bar for attention oriented detail work.

It's not actually rich. I'm running E85 and it's leaned out to 14s AFRs during cruise. When I get on it hard it runs a little rich but thats just due to E85.

Got a good deal on it and it stiffens up the car quite a bit. Also anything 11.49s and under 1/4 mile times require a cage by the NHRA which I hope to do.
