Looks really good! But why 2 different sets of springs?

Thanks!
Well usually people install a whole set of pinks but they leave the front end higher resulting in a saggy rear end appearance. The Tanabes drop lower than the pinks would have (27mm vs the 15mm pinks) so it leaves the car with a great stance. The spring rates are similar to the pinks as far as I know so they match up pretty well. It rides excellent. |

looks good, but two questions:
1.) do you have any before pics for comparison? 2.) where the heck is your turbo?!? An '06 wagon just isn't a REAL subaru without that hood scoop!!! |

There are 2.5 NA wagons too you know. And if you have a hoodscoop with no turbo underneath...well there's a word for that, starts with an R and ends with an ICE

Looks good, I love the rims. I really like the look of the new Legacy's in black. They look slick.

Lookin' good. I've been reading about the rearend sag of the JDM springs on LegacyGT.com. The Tanabes seem like a good solution, but why not just whole set of Tanabe's, what's the reasoning behind the pinks in the rear.

SDRs look much better than the STi BBS.

Well I bought my setup from a guy who imports a few sets a year in from Japan and this set just happened to have the mismatched springs. But after he and I did a little research, it appeared that these would work perfrectly as far as the spring rates and drop distance was concerned. I was a little leary at first since so many guys rave about the pinks all around, but I am very pleased with the Tanabes up front. I think if I had used Tanabes all around, the rear would have been much lower, again resulting in the rear end sag look. I could be wrong, but I did not have a reference point. I knew exactly what the pinks would net since I see them all the time on cars on the forum, but I have yet to see anyone with the Tanabes. Alot of my old TSX friends had them and were very pleased so I knew they coudn't be too bad. |

Haha, yeah the cheaper car payment, insurance and gas is very nice. I do miss the power of turbo sometimes though (used to have a WRX wagon).
But this car was a good fit all around and leaves more $ left over for mods I miss the BBS some days. I am a little nervous driving around in PA/NJ/NY with 18's but we'll see how it goes. If I lose a tire to a pothole this year, I may be heading back to 17's for piece of mind...I drive all over for work. Oh and these are Prodrive PFF7 not SDR's Similar though! |

And let's not forget that the 1999 and earlier legacy had a hood scoop but no turbo, and that was from the factory. |

I swapped a Baja turbo hood onto my old 04 Legacy because I liked the scoop. There was no turbo under there (none offered over here during those years) but I loved it and at the time, very few people had done that mod. |

Anyway, I'm more of a form follows function sort of guy; to me it's sort of false advertising to have a non functional hoodscoop, but I know a lot of people would disagree with me. Maybe that's why my hoodscoop will have FI to back it up But then again I'm more like the guy that drives a beater that goes like stink than something that looks nice Do you plan to get an LGT hood for your wagon as well? |

I was referring to the 2.5RS imps that got the WRX body kit but none of the STi goodies underneath...but didn't the overseas Legacy's get Twin turbo'ed engines as well? IIRC, they made around the neighborhood of 250hp or something like that... |

Nah, I don't plan to get a GT hood for my wagon. I like it the way it is now. The blacked out grille is all I need I would like to someday get a GT though if they ever start making the wagons in stick again Otherwise my next car may be an outback XT since you can still get them in 5 speed. |

Yes, they did. I was just saying there was no difference with the Legacy to your comparison.

Looks like a Thule rack, with dual board carrier on the passenger side and upright bike carrier on the drivers side. |
