I'm doing this swap in the next week or so. I'll do a full write up, step by step from removing the old console to putting in the new one with pictures if anyone is interested in seeing how it's done start to finish.

The part # for the TR radio bezel is 66069FE020. I should have the swap and the write up completed in a couple of weeks and will post it in the Interior/Exterior forum

Ive searched but no luck. Does anyone know the part number for the "tri-pod" bracket? It didn't come with the console swap i bought on ebay, and cant seem to find it on subaruparts

What bracket is that one shown on the right? I'm doing the swap and that's one I don't have. Part # anyone? Is it the same as #14 shown here? https://www.trademotion.com/partloca...10&catalogid=2

^^^^^ does anybody know? I ordered all the part #'s listed in the thread, but this piece seems to be the critical main bracket...kind of important. I disassembled everything to do this install, but without this piece I can't continue. Part # anyone??

wow I didnt even know there was a thread for this here, I did a search once but stopped when I found the super helpful thread just like this one, in iwsti.com I bought the stuff to do my 04 sti, into the 05-07 sti style, Ive been dreading the work to relocate the brake cable, it has to be shortened or something. I havent quiet read this thread yet to see the differences in how you did it compared to the iwsti.com guy. I wish those pics were still up there in the instructions, but great thread buddy, super helpful

btw

just did the newer style sti doorcards as well in my 04 sti, it wasnt nearly the work I thought it would be, just had to cut off a little ear of that bracket to the door (benieth the doorcards) swapped to the new switches of course, cuz you cant do the swap without them. now I guess I just have to re-wire/ extend the mirror switch from the center (where it is now) to the new switch on the driver door. came out great tho, I hated my 04 sti doorcards, the center I reall y am just doing for the climate control look/ the ash tray lil cubby hole the aux goes to, and most importanly cuz I never used the top cup holder abover the cd player, now I will finally have more then 1 cup holder, 2 where there was 1 before, next to the e-brake, and 2 in the rear, YAY!!

You dont need to mess with the cable either.

BTW I tried to keep the top cup holder so I had 3 in my car, but it doesn't seem to work very well. It is sticky now. I am not sure if that is b/c the the lower console change or if the wiring for my car computer is interfering with it.

i want to hit this mod up.
my question is ,
i have 02 wrx, my friend has 06 wrx tr
from this thread is that his whole console will fit in my car ,
but that leaves him with no console and seeing if the 02 will fit in his...
* he wants to keep his single din radio + cubby , as i will do the same
i dont think that would matter as 02-07 stock radio/ mounting point is interchangable?

Found this while searching for the 05 console swap.

You'll have to scroll down to find two options. Of the swap.

How are you suppose to make these climate controls fit

Into this tr bezel? I have the bezel already but i don't see how it works since there are three buttons on top in a line instead of buttons in 4 different spots.

TR console only works on 02-03 controls (maybe some 04's).

The 05 auto HVAC controls plug-and-play to an 04 harness and vice-versa.
