Angry Losing your glasses is an expensive mistake

I lost my stupid glasses and although Lenscrafters was cool and I could just call another pair in without having to be there, it cost me $200.

Almost as bad: buying a 500$ pair, but not using them at all.

No kidding. The worst part is that I'm just slack like that and can probably look forward to doing the same thing in the future. I'm also the one who locks my keys in the car a lot. It's been awhile, but for about a 5 year period I averaged locking my keys in the car about twice a year.

Asking Candy at any time where her keys and glasses are is like asking Bush where the WMDs are.

"They should be around here somewhere?"

Proud to say that's never happened to me!

However, I have a cousin who, within a 45 min period on her way to go hiking, locked herself out of the house, finally got in to get her keys to leave, then locked her car keys in the trunk while getting her camera out. (No comparison, though. She thinks it's the "windeshield factor" that makes things cold. As in "it's warmer if you are behind the windshield then if you're not.")

Same thing. No really. They give me a portion of their income that they do not expect to get back, therefore it becomes just as much mine.

In retrospect I have to say that this was also during the time that I was working full-time, (and sometimes overtime) and going to school, so in general, I never knew if I was coming or going. It was quite a chore keeping myself together, I really needed another person to manage the practical aspects of my life. Yanno, like a houseboy or something. Ahem.

are there credit cards with some insurance plan on them that will replace small ticket items that you have lost if you've bought them on that credit card?

it sounds far-fetched, but i think there used to be some deal like that out there. will check it out. i would recommend that for people who lose their stuff all the time.

anyway, i feel your pain. i lost a $125 watch and am crying over that. lucky i can replace it easily, but still... $125 could have easily gone to an mp3 player or some such toy...
