It's been a 4 door all along
Think of traditional "3 door" & "5 door" cars.

I saw it yesterday at the Philly Auto Show and I really like the looks of this car in person. The matte paint looks amazing.

#1 thing I HATE are those big red reflectors on the rear bumper. A little spray tint would probably do wonders though.

The girl there said production starts in May and to expect dealer arrival late summer early spring.

There is a handful of cars I like right now and this is one of them. I'm just not sure if it will be enough to satisfy me.

It's a Hyundai.....
They could paint it in gold and I still wouldn't buy.

My friend had a Genesis V6 and it died in 6 months.....

Veloster is three doors, always has been. Four if you add the hatch.

For the individual that said his buddy killed one is six months, any car could be destroyed in six months. Depends on how you take care of it and treat it. Hyundai has done more to increase its quality, durability, and reliability than any company out there. I would buy one.

Assplain "died."

If that's the case he should have had a new car or his money back unless one or both of you two boneheads broke it.

I work for a Hyundai dealer here in Ottawa, Canada. I can't wait to get my hands on the first turbo model that arrives and take it for a rip. Also waiting for the re-tuned genesis 2.0t, 70 extra hp should be a big improvement.

Too bad we'll never hear the explanation, we all know it would be HILARIOUS.

Mine has had a couple tiny nitpicky issues, but damn if it isn't leaps and bounds over most of the stuff in its price range.

Did you see what you quoted? You always count the hatch... which is why it's always been a 4 door.

Someone a work was telling me the automatic in the Sonata turbo is a ZF 6 speed unit that he also has in his BMW. He said it will probably be the same auto used in the Veloster turbo. Anyone know anything about this?

Unless your buddy has one of those new fangled FWD, transverse mount drivetrains in his BMW....

ALWAYS? Interesting since that's not how they marketed the car.

No, no....he's not my buddy. It's just some dude at work that is slightly annoying when it comes to cars. Maybe he just means the same brand from his BMW.

Either way, he claims Hyundai uses ZF transmissions and that they are really good.

Hatchback cars (fastbacks are a little different) are always called 3-door hatches or 5-door hatches.. or in the case of the Veloster.. it's a 4-door hatch. Just because they decided to use a different term to market their own vehicle doesn't mean the nomenclature changes.

Jumping all over a guy for correctly calling it a 4-door was a little absurd.

I bought a Hyundai Tiburon back in 2003 when they first came out. I got the v6, drove it for four years. Was a great car. The Tiburon was the first car where Hyundai started the process of changing everything about how they make cars.

I drove it for 4 years, and the only thing that broke was the trunk release in the driver's door. Was covered under warranty.

Supercharged it as well, and never had a single problem with the engine, suspension, transmission.

I'd definitely buy another Hyundai. Especially when you consider price, you almost always get more for less when compared to other manufacturers.

People need to get over "badge" ego.

Which is great because it keeps the msrp down, and make hyundai try harder.
