Default CHANDLER SUPERSTORE Service DEPT! SUCKS

My 2010 WRX is detonating like crazy under any acceleration...LONG STORY SHORT

With major AUDIBLE pinging! MAJOR!

Now car was logged 1 week ago..Did not see the tables myself..But the TECH who drove along..said there was alot of advacned timing up top! And could hear the PING ALSO!

They say SOA REP has to look at log!

YESTERDAY REP LOOKS AT LOG! and they call back and say your car is fine! no problems..And no fix!

WTF? yo my car is about to blow a piston out! AND ITS ALL STOCK!

The Service lady KRISTI! dumb ass.....does not know 1 thing about subarus!

and the service manager GIL...is just playing th eservice manager RUN AROUND ROLE! has he has to as a puppet!

So I call POWER SUBARU! like i should have off the bat! ONLY REASON I WENT TO SUPERSTRE IS FOR CONVENIENCE OF LOCATION! and to see what the new spot is about since POWER WILL MORE THEN LIKELY BE MOVING CLOSING ETC!!!!!!!!!

All i got from POWER IS HOW IT SHOULD BE HANDLED

(rental, drop it off we will find the problem and fix it!) your car shouldnt be pinging brand new! PLUS THE TECHS THEIR ACTUALLY DRIVE WRXS!)

heard some info also HOW CHANDLER SUPERSTORE CUTS ALOT OF CORNERS in inspections etc....WHICH HAVE LEAD TO BLOWN DIFFS! in a few diff cars!)

-10 for your CHANDLER SUPERSTORE THIS SITE CALLS UPON as AWESOME!

better yet call 888-subaru3 or was it 800-subaru3... one use to be a porn number. Power Subaru has one of the coolest Service Managers that I've ever met. He's been with suby since the 90s. As far as the rep goes, He's good people and when ever I have a problem i can call him and know that he'll pick up his cell. Its a shame that u had a bad experiance with them, especially since the tech noticed the problem on the test drive. What kind of gas are you using? Could it be because of the summer gas? those are the things that u may want to address with power.

Fish- yeah ROBERT IS BOMB...and i did his windshields when i was with mr autoglass for 3 years....along with MR MIKE!.....and CHRIS who is now the GM of the store, is the homie also.

SO YEAH NOW FEEL I WILL GET STUFF TAKEN CARE OF!(as i should have in the 1st place.)

Summer gas is not the problem as i ruled that out 1st thing...
either the knock sensor is faulty..and the computer is not reckognizing the knock and is running full advance all the time! or the tune is just crap! can not be anything else.

What would u do in this situation as the REP said the log was OK! but MAN if you hear the PING EVERYTIME! its not ok??????????????????
(u have to play the corporate role huh?) no matter if the service manager wants to or not?

if your knock sensor is faulty then thats just an extra problem if youre getting audible knock. unless your ears are also faulty

what are you going to do if Power looks at it and says..... no problems...?

I purchased two of my subaru's at Power. Most of my service has been at Chandler Subaru. No issues with either and felt I was treated pretty well at Chandler. Can't wait to see what the outcome is.... is it you or is it the subaru?

PROBABLY ME! after what i was told at CHANDLER STORE! and i really dont care if im acting a lil lippy on here or in PERSON!

Now that its over at POWER! where i PERSONALLY KNOW EVERYBODY IN THE BUILDING!(and im not saying that as it matters trust me)! im sure it will be handled different. MAYBE ILL BE WRONG!
service is service..and the way CHANDLER STORE WENT ABOUT HANDLING BUSINESS on a serious problem..was DOOKIE!

as the final outcomed ended at... SOA REP finds nothing wrong with the log of your car! HAVE A GOOD DAY! see u when your engine blows!

and if so
then im the type of person who CREDIT IS NOT A BIG PROBLEM FOR ME! and they can take their blown engine car back and ill just get another 1 elsewhere..

While I've never utilized the service dept. at the Subaru Superstore, their parts dept. has always been very good to me with the best prices in the valley.

I once called Power to buy a CV boot kit. The parts guy told me $100+ (this is after he asked for the VIN 10 times... how can i provide the VIN on a swapped car!! I tried to explain this, but it's didn't sink in). I told him I only wanted the boot kit, not the whole axle or CV assembly and he confirmed that that was his price on the boot kit. Camelback Subaru sold it to me for $3x out the door. Now I find the the subaru Superstore of Chandler is even cheaper!

Aside from their head tech (who's a badass), I haven't really been impressed with that dealer in my limited experience.

On the other hand the CSS has hosted our weekly meets and a couple of awesome events for the Subaru community. I thought this was pretty cool.

Sucks you had a bad experience there, but here's the facts, if the SOA rep said their's nothing wrong with your car, that's not CSS's fault. They cannot do anything for you at that point cause SOA has denied the claim.

Eitherway, I hope you get your new car fixed. That sucks hard dude.

i dont know...

the process of troubleshooting and someone compitent in SERVICE to understand what im talking about was NONE..from CSS..

RAUL IN PARTS is good also..as ive bought some odds and ends no problem..AGREE!

AND YES THANKS FOR HOSTING EVENTS ETC! thats great...but when yoru car MESSES UP..please handle SERVICE AS WELL!

but when the tech who i KNEW ALSO logs the car and tells me there is advanced timing...and can hear the PINGING!....

and then they come back and say NOTHINGS WRONG?????? something is NOT RIGHT WITH THAT! i dont care where you are OR WHAT DEALERSHIP!

now did i go 20 steps further to try to fix this with CSS hell no! Im going to end service from how this incident has been handled so far!

and go with POWER where my boy Chris tells me drop car off..get your loaner....shouldnt be pinging...we will fix it..dont worry...IN THOSE EXACT WORDS! and in a minutes time....

now just for starters EVEN IF THE SAME OUTCOME IS REACHED! the customer service has started as it should for a 25000 vehicle and 2010 BRAND NEW STOCK FROM THE FACTORY! and thats what matters at JUMP!

am i wrong here! or am i bashing BLINDLY WITH NO FACTS except what im dealing with!

FYI the 335i's have been having huge fuel system issues up until 09 or 10 models. My buddies stock 08 coupe has had the high pressure fuel pump and other fuel system components replaced like 4 times under warranty. But once that warranty expires its bad news as each of those services was a few grand. He does love the car though.

I think you need to step back and take a deep breath and calm down. I can understand your frustration, but I don't think that CSS is to blame. They told you they needed to send the log to the SOA rep, which they did, and he told them that there was nothing wrong with the car. All that CSS did, was relay you the message.

Have you ever heard this phrase: Don't shoot the messenger?

If you take it to another store, your history is already on file with SOA. You will likely run into the same problem wherever you go. Just ask Arash.

allright DEEP BREATH....

AND AGAIN situation is not handled correctly as posted 20 times before!
car is pinging...i bring it to dealer to get it checked...dealer finds hears and logs advanced timing thru log and a tech who hears it..

Troubleshooting has occured in this form..and is present in 2 exapmles..BY EAR and BY LOG.. so there is a problem!
and its a NASTY PING!

rep reads log..i get a call saying he doesnt find anything wrong! and there is no fix...END CALL... from SERVICE MANAGER!
(i understand the messenger part) thats where SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PROCEDURE and how it ended!

not a, can i have the REP drive the car to hear the noise itself, nothing!

NOW I DONT CARE IF ALL OF YOU LOVE CSS and yadda dadda....
Customer Service at CSS blowed donkey FOR MY PERSONAL SITUATION!

the service writer didnt even know what pinging was! come on now son!

and i was posting this because
1..not alot of people have their 2010's yet or have just began to receive them...and most do not drive the miles i do so fast... to break in to find a problem.immediately (just do not want this to be a common problem, as ive allready read a few posts,,on some same situations regarding knock from the factory)

2. REMEMBER THE 2007 2008 2009 problems ecu factory tunes?

3. and I know a lil more inside info..about how some of the maintenance services go down..or how they dont go down! from CSS....just saying!
then ADD THAT TO WHAT JUST WENT DOWN WITH ME..

ill talk ish if i please!

and yo ARE YOU WALKING WELL AGAIN? i talked with you at kens that night when we were doing my clutch!

A cv boot kit (band grease 2 clips and boot) shouldnt cost more then $34... thats OEM SUBY parts too.

So Raul is finally ordering the correct parts??? lol... Raul is cool people.

I havent read too much of this thread since this morning (i hate reading unless theres a lot of pictures of nakkid women blindfolded doing jumping jacks in front of a mirror at 6 am in december in north dakota).

BUT this is what I would do. I would request that the rep go with a test drive with me. He will then see first hand what the problem is and be able to tell the tech what to do. Jim is very knowledgeable rep. He's been with suby for about 28 years now.

The unfortunate things is that the service managers usually listen to what the techs tell them. the techs should call tech support if they cannot figure things out.

kinda makes u wish Avondale Subaru was still in business eh
