Default uppipe worth it for STX 2.5L/TD04 WRX?

I'm installing a catted downpipe and catback on my STX-ish 08 WRX. I have a Grimmspeed uppipe I was going to install as well.. but should I?

The TD04 + 2.5L already spools quickly and runs out of breath at the top end, and I'm worried that an uppipe would exacerbate that problem without providing enough gains to make it worth it. Thoughts?

It also seems like a bit hard to get to and that heat shield looks waay rusty, so I'm not anxious to spend the time on the uppipe if it's not really worth it. I'm short on time. But the downpipe is already off..

thanks!

The uppipe remained catless for the 08, right? I think the main reason people were replacing uppipes on earlier models was to get rid of the cat restriction, but I know that Subaru removed the cat from the uppipe at some point (06-ish, maybe?).

Anyway, I have an 06 STX build and uppipe isn't on my list of things to do.

^Yep, the 08+ uppipes are catless.
Thanks for the input! I hadn't thought about the earlier WRXes having catted uppipes; making it more worthwhile to upgrade in that case.

People still see gains from swapping anyways.

Also its nice to get rid of a rusty heatshield that will just start making noise. Heat blanket the grimmspeed uppipe or wrap it.

I PERSONALY would return it if I were you. If you can't then you might as well install it. People do still see gains on 08-14 despite them being cattless. People seem to complain about difficulty to install. The gain to cost to install effort ration isn't enough for me personally to justify it. But that's just me.
