Mirror shade reverse mod
There was this mod way back when the old guys roamed. And it looks like many have forgot about the mirror shade reverse mod. I like to give back on nasioc so I documented the easy mod.
This little trick is a life saver@@!!!!!!@!!! The SUN SHINES PAST BUT NOT ANY MORE@!!!! If you are tall this mod doesnt apply to you, the shade works with your height. But I am 5-10/11 so the sun gets into my eyes. 1. Before. See the gap that the sun can shine through. 2. Unscrew. 3. Pry off this thing with two flat head screw drivers or the tool that is actual used for prying off these xmas trees. 4. Reverse and reinstall. 5. Either wake up early and drive off into the sunrise or drive home off into the sun set with ease. -paul

I've owned my 04 WRX since I bought it new in 2004. In all that time there has only been one time when that stupid shade has actually been in a position to block the sun. I should have done this one long ago. Too bad I don't daily driver the car anymore.

I tried moving the mirror up by the two pivot points before but it did not do the job. It looks weird but its the way to go!

I believe this wasn't made to block the sunlight but to block the glare from those lights against the mirror during night time driving. Ive used it from time to time. Thanks for this idea. I drive home right as the sun goes down pretty much everyday and the sun is always in my eyes!

So I was mistaken. but still....... Who needs the lights on at night? I threw out all my old Thomas Guides a long time ago; weight reduction. Google maps has a back light
