Rancer that scares the $hit out to me, I want to start modding mine power wise. I've been putting a list together but maybe I should make sure I have a beater before I mod anything

Just drop in a set of pistons and then you know you're good for any of the basic mods most of us do. Yeah you'll want a built block if you want to upgrade the turbo and look for a lot more power, but pistons in an EJ257 block is good for more power than most of us will ever reach for our DD cars

If you mod the car and you have fun with it, it will break. If its modded you will be denied warrantee service. These pistons are very fragile... they crack stock. Theres a very high chance that you will be shelling out almost 4k on a build when it happens. My car has only been down for a week though and I'm getting it back tomorrow.
It lasted from 4k miles to 20k miles at 335whp and 400+wtq 20 passes at the track, boost and WOT almost everyday. I had fun with my car and I am in no way surprised to see a cracked ring land. Gotta pay to play. Keep your car stock or be prepared to build it. |

If you have fog lights I suggest doing this DIY I put together, costs less than $15 and a half hour of time. My fog cracked, wish I did this earlier.

It seems a majority of people here have mud flaps. Considering Subaru doesn't even make any for our gen WRX, I'm having trouble believing they are worth it.
People not running flaps, have you guys seen damage to the sides of your cars with oem sized wheels/tires? |

Flaps are a preferance, I used my only in wintertime. And while there was no damage, there was way less dirt and kicked up stuff on the car. |

so, all these cars make more torque than hp..whats the difference which one you reference? hp is just a calculation of torque

horse power is how fast you hit the wall while torque is how far you bring the wall with you... horse power sells cars, torque wins races...blah blah
torque is what breaks things. a subaru with 335 whp and 350wtq is less likely to break a piston then a subaru with 335whp and 420wtq. even though they both will break because these pistons are garbage. if you mod it and you have fun with it then be ready to fix it... that is the bottom line with these cars. the question is not IF but WHEN |

HP = Torque x RPM ÷ 5252 |
