Yeah, if we hadn't gotten the body parts for under invoice, we wouldn't have gotten them . . . I'm sure there will be aftermarket parts for the car . . . might just take a bit longer to get them since it's not an STi or WRX

What is under invoice? Dealer Cost? I also ordered the Aero Splash Guards, but after reading here they seem more cosmetic than functional. I might cancel them and get Body Side Moldings instead or get the Mud Guards.

Most parts came in somewhere between 35-45% below msrp on the parts, which I'm sure isn't cost, but is probably relatively close

To be honest, I got that mileage because I filled up and I was driving slightly downhill for most of the way. Not indicative of what I normally get.

This was just after filling up, a half hour full highway trip at 65-70 mph... there's potential! Rest of the tank/city trips have brought it down, but I liked seeing these numbers finally.

It's called stock exhaust with no muffler tip LOL. I just unbolted the end part and got the rumble. I called the dealership to ask what would void the warranty, and they said subaru isn't that strict, but you can fondle with anything past the cat. anything from the motor to the cat will void the warranty.

I'll do a take off and drive by video tomorrow :P

Default Advice

Hey guys, I just join the site. I am happy to see all the Subaru love. I've been researching cars for years and I've always been a supporter of Subaru. I am about to purchase the 2012 Impreza sport limited. I was wondering if anyone has experienced any problems?

^CVT seems to be a bigger complaint which applies to all vehicles that offer CVT. Basically, if your coming from a geared tranmission, CVT is going to take a little getting used to. I dont know about anything else though.

you may throw a code from an o2 sensor... at least thats what happened with my silverado when i did this. did you just completely take the muffler off or just unbolted and put a spacer there?

Why is the CVT so hard to get use to? I test drove a Limited but I was only in the car for 20mins; but the paddle shifting was fun, didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary for shifting or RPM to gear ratio.

I'm not sure why people say that either. I didn't think the CVT was hard to get used to, its just an automatic, only smoother, lol!

I've driven nothing but stick for 16 years now and this is my first auto, with the exception of my left foot coming up at stop lights, I'm really enjoying the CVT.

When i want a spirited drive i dump it in manual mode and shift where i did in my previous cars. Auto mode when i get on the highway and set the cruise. I also like to put it into 5th or 6th on hills and coast down for fuel savings!

It's weird because you're expecting the shift and you hit 4k rpm and nothin happens so you let off the gas and then it shifts up.

Totally agree!
So far , NO problem with the smooth cvt.
We get in the car, push the accelerator and it goes.
Paddle shifters for odd situations.
What is the problem? Seems simple.
My wife and I both used to drive manuals but heavy traffic finally converted us to auto's on our most recent cars.

im not 100% why, but people seemed to complain about it..

Like going into the Drive gear took a long time compared to a auto, which was instant, was one of the issues I can remember from the top of my head.

I'm with you. Nothing hard about getting used to the driving of it. The sound maybe, the pick up maybe, but that's what paddles are for.

Wow, I can't believe these fit! Hard to tell from the pictures, but how close are the tires from sticking out past the fenders? I imagine the bodywork on the 2012 WRX is a little wider than ours to fully house these bad boys. Love the look!
