Default JDM vs USDM STi exhaust

Are there any differences? I want to buy a JDM STi exhaust for the stealth look and lose one cat, wondering if it is any different from the USDM one.

FYI The USDM STi exhaust only has 2 cats (no pre-cat).

If all you want to do is remove 1 cat, just buy an aftermarket catless downpipe that mates to the rest of the stock turboback exhaust. Or just get a TurboXS Stealth-back with 1 cat and keep your original muffler section.

thanks for the info. the jdm has 1 cat so i guess it's even better than the USDM one. i wanted to get this instead of a downpipe because 1) it looks stock 2) it will cost less than a downpipe

ok after verifying this with bikerboy in another thread the JDM STI has a twinscroll turbo which means it has a different flange on the downpipe and hence will not fit on a USDM STI turbo

Earlier V7 STI's (not sure on exactly which years) didn't have the twin scroll setup, so those downpipes should mate up to any US WRX or STI. You'll also need either the matching midpipe (which will mate up to a stock muffler section) or a JDM catback since the downpipe is shorter than the USDM downpipe.
