i would imagine a difference would be noticed only in long term and these "noticeable" differences would probably not be felt on the butt dyno but close inspection of countless before and after logs.
i think its more of a "piece of mind" mod. |

This is a good idea. No need to empty a catch can. I don't know if I could shell out $300 for it though..

Just thought I would add some pics of the install on my '08 STI. I also replaced my PCV valve at the same time (basically the whole Y- or T-connector and valve.) Interestingly enough, the line from the PCV valve to the intake manifold must have had water in it, which had frozen, because it was rock hard. I'm thinking of pulling that line and cleaning it out in-case some gunk formed. It was too f-ing cold today (-12C) to pull it off, plus it refused to budge when I did try, probably due to being frozen.
Anyhow (sorry for the dirty engine bay - long, cold, and salty winter): On the '08 there isn't much room to run the lines to the AOS so I had to get creative and run the crankcase breather line underneath those other two lines. Worked out well, no kinking, etc. |

Think there is slight leak with mine as idle is a little rough. Guess using zip tie on every single fittings may not be such a bad idea like Digitalfiend did.

I was expecting a load of oil in the IC but there wasn't really any, just a little dribble. Last time there was quite a bit (compression test was fine) and the time before that it was clean. My PCV valve was pretty non-functional when I replaced it today. I'm sure it was gummed up a bit from the cold but still, I'm glad I replaced it. |

Just install the aos today, have one slight problem. The hose supplied seemed to small for the pcv port, I was only able to get about half inch of the hose onto the pcb port.
Were you guys able to get the hose on all the way or how did do this? Thanks |

Does the center hex nut unscrew from the housing, or do you have to remove the hoses to unscrew the entire assembly when you need to add oil?

wow, I really like this aos. What's amazing though is how Barney style the install write up was and yet, people still ask questions. How bout yall stick your heads under your hood to look for the lines where numerous people have said.
Hey Grimm, being that most people seem to be orientating the nipples upward, have yall considered flipping the label/name around? Like this |

I know this is the butt dyno or placebo, but my car feels better after I did this, however I did just change the plugs last week as well. So maybe a little bit of both. Could be the slightly warmer weather as well, as my car does not like the cold. It is probably just wishful thinking.
I like the product - only modification was an elbow that I used for the hose from the pcv. |

Ya, the only thing that didn't install pretty was ^ that one. It's awkwardly shoved between the 2 parts of my FMIC piping. Only other way was to let it rub on part of the throttle cable assembly and I wasn't comfortable with that.

Anyone have more updates or maybe data logs post install?. Maybe some one was able to add a degree of timing because the oil from the pvc system was no longer contaminating the fuel and so the AOS is acting as a good knock deterrent?? |
