What size is a OEM wrx '10 catback? 2.25 or 2.5? / is it worth buying should I just get exhaust tips? Looking for sound but am getting rallisport a soon and removing resonator.

If you can pick one up for less than $100, I would say go for it. I got mine for free Exhaust tips will only make your pee-shooter like slightly larger with no performance gain (its not like the wrx CBE is going to give you a lot of performance either lol). I believe the wrx CBE will help you gain the subaru rumble, if that is what you actually want? |

Got tapped in the rear bumper last night whille sitting at a redlight. Moron. My rear bumper needed a new spray anyways from the previous owners negligence. Now my Magnaflow catback won't be installed until after the body shop does what they need to do in early April. Oh well.

just wondering if anyone could help me. I was recommended to try shell rotella T6 for my oil change. but i can't find anything with name t6 at walmart or canadian tire. All i found is rotella "T" synthetic for diesel (not T6) either in 5w-40 or 0w-40. are these full synthetics that i can use?

First search result on google man.. https://www.google.com/search?num=10...hp.MOYccl88sfI I like Subaru brand synthetic. I used Mobil 1 before that and liked it too, but really I think any full synthetic is fine really. Some people are insane and are insane about their oil.. I can understand that, but I still think they are insane, unless it is a $40,000 Ferrari engine or something.. but it is a 2.5i.. So who cares.. LOL. |

Rotella T6 is commonly regarded as the best for Subarus. Mobil 1 is commonly regarded as the worse. It's not just preference. It comes down to oil analysis. I posted an analysis from Blackstone Labs of my car like 15-20 pages back I think.

Yeah I used Mobil 1 because that is the synthetic oil my dealership used.. after that I used Subaru synthetic and still do and will continue to.
But -- I bet if I did keep using Mobil 1 my engine would be fine though, no matter what anybody says, and if I did have a problem, I would not blame it on my oil, but probably a manufacturing defect or some other issue. I think all that oil analysis business is insane and overkill and proves nothing.. especially for an engine like ours. But that's just me.. |

The problem with Mobil 1 is that it sheers, looses it's viscosity and burns. Normally not a big deal with NA Subarus, but it's been a proven issue with turbocharged Subarus.
I ran Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w-30 for a bit and it started to burn at a rather alarming rate. Even more so under hard driving conditions. Went in for my 60k and as a part of it my mechanic did an oil change. I only had a hunch about bad oil so I was half expecting him to put in more Mobil 1 like I had. But after seeing what mods I had on the car he put in some Pento 5w-40 (I never told him that it was burning Mobil 1). The Pento Synthetic 5w-40 has been fantastic. Whether it's just because the oil is thicker or it's resisting sheering, the engine has been running much smoother and now, after ~3000 miles, the oil level has been at about the same spot the whole time. Which is great. |

Mine never burned any oil ever, (30k miles so far) but I imagine if I had that problem, I'd start looking at different oil brands, or look for an actual problem.
I did hear net rumors about Mobil 1 not being "real" true full synthetic oil. I didn't do any more research because I had already stopped using it, but if there is any truth to that, I don't think that's too cool. You should get what you pay for anyway.. |

+1
I ran it too, was burning about 1 1/2 quarts every 3700 miles. I'm running Castro full synthetic right now, it's pretty good right now. Viscosity has been fairly good based on oil pressure gauge. So i won't know much right now |

I thought it was royal purple that was the worst? I would run t6 but no one carries it where I'm from only Rotella T. I'm running Mobil 1 and no problems or loss of oil on my end. Ran as smooth as it did when I first got it. I do plan however, on switching not because its a bad oil, just want to stick with the OEM stuff

The rotella t6 in area is 5-40 and only found in the specialty/diesel section. Is this the same as what everyone uses? What's the diff between 5-40 and 5-30. What's more recommended for winter summer?
