ESP legal tranny options (i.e. epic tranny failure on sunday)
so this weekend, my tranny decided to go boom. It happened under power in second gear, no shifting or anything, just flat footed it, then 'bang'. Anyway, I'm having the car shipped to Andrewtech for a rebuild, but I'm afraid its just going to happen again, and I can barely afford it this time. Are there any upgrades that are legal in ESP or am I stuck with the 02's stock glass box?
how fast do you 02 guys go through trannys? My car has 66k miles on it, 6 years of autocross and last year was my first full season on Rcomps (it gave out on my first event of this year, so one season of rcomp usage basically). Is my experience about the norm?

try to find a 04+ tranny. Pretty sure that's legal if swapped as a whole. The gears are reportedly stronger. I'd had no problem, but I keep my fingers crossed a lot. I also don't make much power ATM though...
Sucks no matter what. |

+1 on the 04-05tranny. It shouldnt make a diff because your not changing your gear ratio. there should be no reason its not allowed.

Completely LEGAL as an UD/BD.... it falls on the same line and is swapped out as a complete unit. Even if the ratios were different, it'd still be allowed. However, you would not be allowed to put those individual gears in the other case, unless the cases have the same PN.

06 ratios are different.....but I had a ton of prosolo launches and 62k miles on my '06 and never had a problem.
