WOW just wow ..so many amazing Subarus that the US never get to drive

I didnt know some of these models existed, S402s, STi foresters, Old STIs these all WIN and I would love to get my hands on any of them

can used JDM cars be imported after they reach 25 years old? Then just a few more years until the early 90s can be brought over?

Yep, you can start importing them in 2017 with the 92 WRX.

You can get any of the GC models now if you don't mind work. Just buy them from the auctions and have them half cut and all the goodies packed up in a container. Lots of exporters will do it for you. Then put it all back together with a cheap 93-95 bodyshell here that doesn't need OBD2 emissions.

With all these S-### cars I'm surprised no one posted up the S201, definately not a pretty car by any means, but it was one of the original limited release cars..

^^^

maybe wouldnt be so bad if it was all one color?

I know the "kit" is extreme on it but I'm sure you could tame the body down easily if you wanted, though it would not really keep the s201 in its traditional/historical form

Maybe I***699;ve been looking in all the wrong places but why do they plant the 2.0L into most of these rare sti***699;s??? It could be just me or the lack of sleep but I swear the sti***699;s in america come with the 2.5L.

If that s*** didn***699;t make me sound like a FNG then im not sure what would. I***699;m almost not even sure if I wanted to post this question but I need to know!!!

From what I have learned over the years, the EJ207 (2.0L) provided more top end power (rev'd to 8k RPM) along with other goodies (forged pistons, etc.), whereas the EJ257 (2.5L) provided more low end torque, making the EJ207 a popular engine to swap to.

You're right, the USDM STIs are 2.5L but this thread is about JDM, where all STIs there use the EJ207.

The 2l is a better motor. It was also for rally homologation. The 2.5 is only on the STi in the USDM and maybe Canada?

i am not sure why they do that. i was going to say that Japan roads are narrow and small verses American roads are more open out. but the GTR is a 2.6lt, Mark II's are 2.5lt.

I do agree that the EJ207 is a strong beefy motor. but i can't really compare them to EJ257 because i rarely see them out here. i have seen the Forester motors and 2.5lt STI A-lines out in cars.
