I've had good luck with "Blue Coral Dri-Clean with Odor Eliminator" and so far it's my favorite... it comes in a spray can and has a plastic scrubber on the cap. don't remember where I got it, but it works great and smells decent afterwards. I like using it for quick spot cleaning.

For heavier cleaning or cleaning the whole car, I use a carpet shampooer. That works even better because it sucks up all the funk instead of spreading it around.

Blue Coral Dri-Clean.

Yup, that's what I have been using for the Subie and the Tacoma. It's a good light duty cleaning.

When it comes to heavy/nasty stuff though, I still think the best way (albeit a bit of a work) is to remove the seats and pull the carpet out and toss it in the washing machine. I haven't done it on the Subie, but did that with the truck. Well worth the effort, IMO.

I go to local Walmart, purchase huge jug of Spray & Wash. Mix thick solution in pesticide type sprayer, like the ones you see at Home Depot. Spray on carpet, then scrub with stiff bristle brush. Vacumn out using wet/dry vac. Dries quick and smells fresh. I've done this with at leat a half dozen cars. Sometimes I completely remove seats and center console for that detailed look. Be careful not to turn on ignition with seats out of car. You will get an anoying airbag light and have to take to dealer to reset. Good luck

Not sure about your model and/or year, but I have a 2005 Impreza and ive taken the seats out, got an AIR BAG light, and it turned off immediately after putting the seats back in.

So, I think that depends on the year of the car.

taking out the seats sounds like a whole lot of work though. ive got an annoying stain in between the center console and passengers seat, how long does it take to remove the seats? any special tools required?

15-20 minutes, just your basic ratchet and sockets.

Folex works pretty well. I've used it on my alcantara with sucess. You can pick it up at OSH or ACE. Plain looking bottle, but the **** works.
