no theyre not. Your applying it to thick, apply it much thinner wait for like 10-15 minutes and then take off with a microfiber towel.

over on the MINI forum people swear by this dry as you wax product..

http://www.detailersparadise.com/Vie...20060915170815

I use it and it really does work well. I also use this synthetic wax called epic and use the hydro as a booster. Together they keep your car nice and shiny, as well as protected.

Is Turtle Wax THAT bad???
I use the Turtle Wax Platinum Series Wax and it seems to give me a pretty decent shine...
They also claim that its made out of carnuba wax. I usually spend a good hour waxing my car. The result is worth every effort I put into it.

I have Turtle Wax and I was about to apply some on my car until I found a bottle of Rain-X wax (blue bottle) and I decided to go with that. It was in a spray bottle and I just sprayed it and used a cloth to rub the wax into the car in a circular motion. Some say to go side to side. Does that matter?

And when I sprayed the wax, it came out as a foam type substance but sometimes it comes out as a water spray. Am I doing it wrong?

lol, I'm new to detailing so I'm like totally clueless.

EDIT: Does all wax products produce a shine to the car?

Make sure to not wax the car in a circular motion, always in a back and forth motion.

You mentioned a spray wax, I suggest the new formula, Optimum Car Wax. It is very easy to use, and if applied correctly (spray and wipe in motion^) it will leave no oil or residue behind. I also mention this product because you can actually use this on all of the trim, it will not leave any white residue and is perfectly safe.

It is simple to use, and I usually see 4+ months of protection from OCW.

shine comes from the polishing and levelness of the clear coat not the product applied over it.

I like the turtle wax ice as a quick polish and shine, but in terms of wax I still prefer either P21S carnuba wax or Meguires NXT liquid wax. I usually find my polish makes the biggest difference in the final shine and have used 3M products, P21S, Meguires, Pinnacle, etc... and for ease of use I go with P21S, but it is hard to beat 3M Imperial Machine Glaze for a nice and inexpensive cleaner polish.
