Tuners in SLC or surrounding areas
I am looking for a tuner in or around SLC, I would like to know who are the good tuners and what they use for tuning. My car is originally tuned on EcuTek and I would like to keep it that way since i already put out the money for the license.
I am only 3-4 hours away from the SLC area and my original tuner (Vishnu) is around 9-10 hours away. So I am looking for somewhere a little closer since I will have to trailer my car. Thanks Justin

ECUTeK is awesome. Good choice |

The reason for the tune is I have a FMIC setting here and a 38mm External wastegate w/ up pipe on the way. I am also debating on the P & L full straight pipe exhaust but that might be a little much for driving around town. So how is the best way to contact the above people, do they have shops? Well I know Cobb does but they dont tune EcuTek do they? Thanks! |

Yes Cobb does tune other EM software other than their own; also the tune is done on their mustang dyno. You can call and ask for John Shafer or schedule a tune through Chris there. 801.713.0035

I didn't have a chance to call Cobb today but I am hoping I can get around to it tomorrow.
Is Cobb the only shop in the area that has a dyno? Sorry if its a newb question but i have only been to SLC about 3-4 times and when i had my VW chipped at Streamline they didn't have a dyno. Also thanks for the help guys! I get my taxes back pretty soon so getting this thing put together the rest of the way is making me impatient. |

Who tunes opensource? I want to go stage 2 in my Spec B but don't want to fork out the cash for an AP once again.

Depends who does the tune. But yourself can do the flash for the cost of a cable and run just a generic OTS map. I prefer having my cars dyno tuned with actual numbers not my butt dyno. |

I'm not a ECUTEK dealer i've just used it before. John has more experience then me in the tuning world. I think you should probly just goto cobb tuning and they can pre-load your car on the dyno for whatever you are trying to do I just do drag tunes. I want to start doing circuit racing tunes.

Yeah it was the begenning of last year and he said they didn't do open source anymore.... I was pretty upset about it so I know I heard right. But its all good. I taught myself and have a nice conservitive tune now for more than a year
But if Cobb will tune OS for you, it will be a quality tune. Go talk to them. ( Or john@cobb on here...... ) |
