Default New record on vf52

I was shooting for 11.7s so i could beat the sti record too but i dont think its gonna happen without some smaller wheels, better rubber, colder temps, exh wastegate etc. Here are the pics and i will have videos up soon on youtube. Dont ever let anyone tell you spt cbe are restrictive on small turbos cause this is proof the work just fine. Plus i dont attract cops.

Videos suck because my video camera battery died, used crappy camera and iphone

Why did you choose to use a 80mm intake anda 3.5 bar map sensor?

I went 83mm cause 73mm wasnt in stock lol I was getting tuned that weekend. I figured what am i gonna do flow too much air? Prob overkill, i noticed the throttle response is a bit slower sometimes. I bought a 3.5 map sensor because stock sensor only logs 22.5psi and what if i hit boost spike? Didnt want to run into boost cut issues etc To be honest i was hoping to run more boost like 24+ but i think with my tmic, the vf52 is just blowing hot air and working overtime. Although i might experiment with some kinda spray for my tmic to cool it down. Maybe co2 etc. It doesnt bother me that much unless its 75degrees+ which isnt very often here in central ny. A part of me wishes i had a fmic but i dont think its necessary unless you live in a hot climate, i would rather spend $300 on a nice co2 kit. But i knew from the start i wasnt gonna upgrade my turbo, i like fast spool, and being able to go back to stock in a weekend if ever needed.

i got to admit, nice driving and based on your 1/4 times from before and your new tune numbers, a .3 second drop is right where you should be. wheels and better weather could defiantly help next time!

you gotta be kidding, a brand new ACT and you think its slipping? i hope not.

Yeh i hope its not slipping, i glazed it real bad racing cars back to back on street using launch control the night before....called it quits it feels fine when its cold but once i heat it up with sick launching she feels weird in 3rd...who knows maybe my rpms are just climbing so slow cause of the hot humid air and tmic. You would think it would slip real bad and my 60ft would suffer so ill prob be alright. I would rather burn a clutch out every year or two than have to put a new trans in tho. Organic street discs always come back to life most of the time.

Yea some tuners have beta version, like a demo. You set it at whatever rpms you want. I run 4500 on street and 5-5500 at track. Just hold clutch in and put gas to floor. Stutters and you build like 10psi out of the hole. Release clutch kinda fast tho or u will glaze your clutch bad and will have to wait 1-2 hours for it to cool down

ill hit 11s when the weather cools down. I will go back to the track and run 11.8s 11.9s when its 50-60degrees...maybe ill bump the LC up to 5500 and drop tire pressure to 25psi I was running 30 all the way around out of fear of breaking something

Everybody was shocked at the autocross at how quiet your car is! It definitely has a unique sound, but it's not a screamer like so many modified cars are.

ESTA (dragstrip) definitely looks like someone's backyard! It's some seven miles from my house, and while I'm on the civilized outskirts of Syracuse, ESTA is a step into the sticks. I've only got Maple Grove (SE PA) to compare it to, but it's as much track as you need.

Nice time and driving. Congrats on the record, 114 with the stock turbo is nothing to sneeze at, it should definitely hit 11's with better weather and/or tires.

Yea i like my subaru perf tech catback, its throaty but not too obnoxious like most aftermarket mufflers. Cops dont mess with me and the dual exh looks sharp and more sleek to me. Most people disagree with me for getting rid of the rumble but its just a flaw in exh technology if you ask me. 75% of tuners will tell you to go equal length anyways. Esta isnt the best track for sure, but its only 20 min away from me so if i break something I dont have to tow my car 100 miles

As a tuner it's always nice to see a car is running consistently, but two 12.01s...I guess all you can do is laugh.

I agree that you'll get your 11's this year. The 60 foot has some room for improvement with better track prep and tires, and the car will definitely be quicker on a cooler day. I'd say you did awesome considering the conditions.

What's the fastest stock turbo and engine time for the WRX in general, not just VF52?

What shift knob did you use?

Congrats my friend! You should wait for cooler weather and take another shot. It definitely has 11's in it!

I'm happy your using the ks-tech 83mm maf as well. Im going to be doing a lot of tuning with that unit.

I recently came upon a video of a young gentleman knocking Innovative's preference on the intake. Even though I respect the man behind the camera, I felt the guy on camera was an idiot.

I feel that if your going to mod a car at all, do the 83mm and ID 1000s/2000's. If you know how to tune the setup, those mods never have to be changed (only modified for fittment with fmic). You can run those without problem on the stock turbo, through c16 on a 35r setup.

I've had 3 intakes, and three sets of injectors in my car.. Stupid. Do it once, do it right.

Good job guys!
