Cool '04 STi Struts and 02/03 Prodrive Springs?

I have '04 STi struts coming in and have 02/03 Prodrive springs with OEM 02/03 front and rear top hats. My concern that the struts will be overdampening with this combination. I've also read that the struts might be too short and suspension travel might be another problem. They will be used in a daily driver 05 WRX. Thanks.

I see a couple of issues:

04 style struts and 02 style rear tops don't mate perfectly. Even with the nut completly tightened, there's still a little play - often causing a clunk. A lot of folks use a washer or two to take up the play.

Prodrive WRX springs are designed to work with stock struts - they're not very stiff. So yes, that spring/strut combo will be slightly overdamped.

I'd suggest a more STi strut friendly set of springs that work with 04 style hats.
