Did the Inno fairing come with the Subaru lettering on it, or was that something you did? It looks awesome. I did the carbon fiber look too. Which model Inno fairing is that?
And hey, where in NY are you? I'm down on Long Island. |

I got the Subaru letters on eBay. About 8 bucks. Here's one:http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUBARU-3D-Ch...e57a20&vxp=mtr The carbon fiber is just a vinyl overlay. This is a Medium Inno fairing.

Hello! We just put a deposit down on an incoming 2013 that is just about perfect, my only concern is that it has the rear spoiler. Does anybody have issues with additional size of the spoiler rubbing on racks, boxes, ect when the hatch is open? I would love to just move our Thule Ascent 1600 box onto the Impreza from our 4runner but I am afraid I might run into trouble.
Anybody using longer cargo boxes? We specifically use it for skis & snowboards. Luggage in the summer if we are taking a longer road trip with the dog. Can the rear spoiler be taken off? Dealer is saying no...... |

I use a SportRack Aero 1300 which is the same length as your Ascent 1600 and I have no issues with my hatch open. I do not have the spoiler but there is so much room behind the box that I doubt it would be an issue with a spoiler. |

+1 for Rockymount Tie Rods! They work great and the low profile looks awesome. (probably less noisy and better for MPG as well)
I'll take some pics of my setup and post tomorrow. Allen Quote:

Rack Stolen
So that beautiful Thule rack I posted about earlier on this thread was stolen from my carport. I woke up on the 31st of December, my birthday no less, to find my roof bare. The bastards didn't even bother with the locks and pried up on the hooks on one side of the car enough to get them to pop out. This left nice dimples in the roof line of the car and some pretty big scratches on both sides. So now I'm out a brand new rack and my two Yakima front loader bike carriers. $$$$ down the drain. So careful out there gents, if they want it, they will take it. -___-

Bummer! Sorry to hear about that!
Keep your eyes on Craigslists and see if it pops up for sale. If so call the police! Quote:

Oh man... what a d i c k move. It's bad enough they steal your stuff, but to damage the car in the process takes a special kind of a-hole. I hope you can find it, or better yet, find them. |

this is actually quite common in nj, in the last 3 weeks we have had about 4/5 sti/wrx stolen. The roof rack thing is very very common. If i left my oem cross bars, fairing, and tie rod, it would be gone by morning. the only time they won't touch the car is if it only had the oem cross bars but even then its a risk. I use the roof rack occasionally so I put on and take off the same day, never let it sit when its dark out. I tend to stick with my hitch mount rack which they would also steal in a second eventhough it is locked. Based on the bikes that I have, I have had ppl try to steal them before or try to strike up conversation with you to get info to them come to your place and jack your ride. Paranoia is your best friend here. You are lucky they did not do more usually they pry the thing off so forcefully that it takes out part of the roof as they did with my friends vw. All for a stupid jdm look eventhough they don't own any bikes, skis, snowboards or etc. ********

Has anyone attempted to add motion/proximity and tilt sensors to the factory alarm? I basically don't want anyone to be able to touch the car and keep the same alarm/remote and maybe remote monitoring via smartphone?!! If anyone comes across a Thule fairing with a 'Simply Clean' decal, a "NY" ny giants decal and a yellow "W" Wutang decal or two yakima front loader bike racks, let them know that I miss them dearly and wished they'd come on back home. @aeoporta I know what you mean, I moved out to cali from NJ 6 months ago. I didn't know cali got down like jersey. Now I'm back on alert |

Is there a way to lock the subaru oem crossbars to the roof? I know yakima options have that ability.

So there's no prying the crossbars free; if the thief wants my rack and cargo box (which also locks), he's going to have to cut something, which could still happen. |

Goosetavi,
From my friends in cali you have to be on guard just like in jersey. They also like to pinch oem rims but more so from teh 7.5 gen accord coupes. I can't wait to move somewhere where I won't have to worry so much about my vehicle. I believe you can add the additional alarms a car audio shop should be able to see about that, not certain about keeping the remote though. Either way if the ******** want it for their jdm look they will come and take it. I even came out one morning to find my neighbors car on blocks, damn pricks. |

I was wondering if anybody has experience with putting a Jon boat on top of their Impreza hatch? I've been searching every thread I can find on various forums. No luck. But from the looks of some of these racks I think it might be doable. Some of the bars extended out beyond the sides of the car which might be wide enough for the boat to lay down on?
The boat I'm looking at is 10ft long, bottom width 32 inches, Beam 46 inches and a weight of 80 pounds - http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/specs.cfm?boat=3417 Although if I could get away with it I'd prefer the 13ft long, 36 inch bottom width, Beam 53 inches, 113 pound version - http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/specs.cfm?boat=3419 |

[Edit: Scratch my other question. Better one.]
W-o-w. I just checked the prices for Yakima racks (I have a '13 Impreza Sport Limited), and I was blown away by the prices. Then I checked the OEM prices, and I saw that Aero bars are only $200, while the round bars are $340! Can anyone help me understand why I should pay so much more for the round bars? Or, for that matter, why I should go for Yakima or Thule instead of OEM? Is it just because OEM bars don't lock? thx! Last edited by dlinsalata; 01-08-2013 at 12:54 AM. |

I guess another potential option is that if I get the Aero bars + the ski/snowboard roof rack from Subaru, they will only ever work with Subarus? |
