People ask for photos on the topic.

There are no new photos on the topic to post.

If there were new photos on the topic, they would be here within minutes from someone.

Of course, you complain about being off topic... now complain about getting back ON topic. And you still don't actually discuss the topic or much of anything else other than criticizing other people's posts.

Actually, SoDealer spends most of his time trolling YOU, specifically, I've come to realize. It's kinda creepy.

On-Topic:

I have a REALLY hard time believing that the leaked photos are the actual 2014 Forester. It looks entirely too much like the current Forester computer-enhanced with the current Impreza and a Hyundai front bumper. Just too suspicious for me.

Not as suspicious as SoDealer, though.

This lowered stuff sure is ugly. The entire point of a Forester, Outback, or Tribeca is ground clearance.

so you post just for the sake of posting even if you have nothing to contribute and it isn't even constructive? At least you have a consistent pattern of behavior.

No.

Therefore this thread is pointless.
The 2.5x and 2.5x Premium should still have manual standard and CVT as an option. Unfortunately the XT most likely will only be CVT (if we even get the XT here).

That is objective truth right there.

I understand where you are coming from. However there are many similarities between the leak brochure photos and the camp Forester driving around.

1) Similar grill
2) Same wheels on camo car and 2.0i-L (just different color)
3) Same placement of side mirrors on door
4) Same roof rails on 2.0XT and camo car
5) Same placement and look of fog lights on leaked image and camo car
6) Same placement of turn signal location on side mirror on camo and leaked car image
7) Same air inlet in front bumper on 2.0i-L leaked image and camo car
8) Same looking spoiler on camo car and leaked image
9) Same type and placement of antenna of both camo and leaked image

I'm sure there are other aspects that are the same/similar between the two. But those are the ones that jumped out at me.

I FULLY believe it is the actual 2014 Forester(JDM at least). They showed something at the National Dealer Business Meeting and my boss said it didn't look any different to the current Forester to him. That fits to why you disbelieve it.

No, I know the camo Forester looks a lot like the brochure pics. I've chosen to believe that the camo is highly unfinished and the brochure is just chopped together. Like it's coincidental that they both resemble each other highly. I'm just surprised at how unchanged the Forester is if that is indeed the new Forester.

I'm not saying that I DON'T like it, but I'm just really surprised that the change isn't more dramatic, you know what I mean? Good inputs, though, thanks.

I'm just the opposite. I have never, ever been more convinced that the leaked photos are absolutely the real deal. It's one thing to photoshop a picture and pass it for real, but it's another to take that photoshopped picture, print a fake sales brochure with specs and features, then photograph that brochure -- curved pages and all.

Top it all off with second-hand reports (maybe some first-hand?) from those that have seen it saying it's accurate, and finally the 100% correlation with the visible parts of the camo pix.

I'd bet a lot of money those are the real deal, and I'd advise those that are hoping for something different to stop holding their breath. For me, the anticipation of the body style is over, it's more about which engines we'll get and if they're adding direct injection.

Also, remember that the 1st to 2nd gen Forester was very evolutionary, with almost no change in overall dimensions. Makes sense that the 3rd to 4th gen Forester do not change radically, either. Indeed, for me, the only flaw in the 3rd gen Forester was the 4EAT (and inherent poor mileage) and cheap looking dashboard. So, for me, Subaru nailed it with the 4th gen!

Either way, it looks like theyve got a corporate face together finally. Good to see. It will help identity and sales i think. The greenhouse on the mule looks way taller than in the brochure pic though.

remember brochure is a pic of a curved page. Not comparing apples to apples.

I agree with this statement, this appears to be the bigger theme found in all of the new models that are going to be released. Its clear that Subaru wants to have the Hawkish theme on all of their new models. Despite our own opinions on the looks, they're moving full steam ahead.

Good points. I'm always skeptical until the models hit the showroom floor for USDM.

Indeed, it would be an elaborate hoax and silly for a company like Subaru to do when they barely spend money advertising cars currently in production (see BRZ). I'm sure you're right, but I'm waiting for an official reveal.

Umm they are not advertising BRZ because they don't have the supply. Next year may be a different story. And I see Subaru ads all the time! Seems like there is always a new one!

It depends on where you go. Our sole Subaru dealership has had a Galaxy Blue Limited for sale for over 50 days now. It's been marked down below MSRP and we just had some snow fall today that didn't stick, but it'll be even harder to sell now.

If you look on Autotrader.com and search for BRZ you'll find them peppered across the nation.

Also, the advertising comments came from a note I made the other week while watching Top Gear USA and every other commercial was a Scion FR-S commercial and zero BRZ commercials.

I see commercials for Outback and Legacy all day, errday. Not the Forester recently, but used to see that all the time, too. I would love to see the new Forester run commercials next to the Crosstrek.

Hmmm interesting cause I've seen both Forester and Crosstrek commercials recently. Really like the Crosstrek one actually! You should check it out online I you haven't caught it on the tele!

I am wondering if Subaru will put the 6spd manual in the Forester or still give us the short stick and give us the 5spd? JDM will be getting the 6spd if you believe the brochure info.

Here's a modified pix of the warped brochure pix that someone had kindly done.

At least it has an automatic option. I'm glad Subaru offers automatics/CVT with AWD and turbos. The car brands that offer Subaru's level of AWD with a turbo and automatic/CVT are tiny.

i am going to keep an eye on this. i just moved into the subaru family with the new 2.0 impreza. and now my girlfriend is looking into a compact SUV. no point in getting the XV because it's too similar to my car. i was looking at the CX-5, outback and the forester. We need ground clearance, more cargo room, all-wheel drive, and gas mileage. as of right now, i am a big fan of the outback. i hope they fix that problem with the fb25 of oil consumption. I wouldn't want that engine in the outback, although it looks like it will find its way there is a couple of years.

Depending on the quality, I may be able to get one of the wife. She did NOT like the current model though. Poor quality. The Rav4 is far superior sadly.

It's between the 2014 Forester, 2014 Rav4, and an updated CX-5 with the 2.5L engine - Whichever comes first has the best chance at my money, but I'll reserve my final decision until more information is available for each I wanted the Crosstrek something fierce, but I can't take that far a step down in performance... I can only make so many concessions in the name of fuel economy :P

Just saw someone posted some images of the new Forester at Yajima (supposedly) in one of the Japanese forums.
