Well, I got my Legacy key and put it all together, only to find that I got the wrong Legacy key The key works to start the car, but the remote doesn't work. Right now I have a very fancy valet key, lol.

I uploaded the photos, but I won't be able to finish the write up until I can find a new key. If anyone sees one, I would be grateful for a heads up!

I found an old video today, so I decided to do a comparison. I added a little back story too

Here's the story of my cars: I borrowed various cars from my parents throughout high school (all had less than 150HP), but didn't buy my first car on my own until spring of 2006. It was a 1999 Honda Accord LX. It had a 2.3L, 4 cylinder engine, and a 5 speed. It was rated at 150HP and 152TQ. I kept it stock except for some wheels and an eBay intake.

The Honda was a great car and I kept it until fall of 2010 when I got my 2011 WRX. I sold the Honda and then quickly got caught up in modding my WRX. I had never done anything with cars other than changing oil and wheels, but a year and a half later I now have a 462WHP/492WTQ car that was all wrenched in my garage!

Here is the older video of the Honda compared to a more recent video of the WRX. There is quite a difference!

1999 Honda Accord: 50-100mph: 15.6 seconds
- 150HP / 152TQ Rated
- 2.3L I4 (Stock)
- 5 Speed Transmission
- Video from March 2007

2011 Subaru WRX: 50-100mph: 4.4 seconds
- 462WHP / 492 WTQ
- Blouch 20G XT-R Turbo
- E85 - Built Motor - FMIC - EWG
- Invidia Catless Downpipe
- Stock Cat Back Exhaust
- Video from March 2012

Haha. I didn't/don't think the Honda was that bad. Pretty average for it's day. The 5 speed made it a little bit of fun too. My wife drives an 07 Civic now, and that has about the same power. It seems to be plenty for getting around town.

Well slow compared to what you're in now lol. The Honda could outrun my truck every day of the week

No last time I went Chong was in my car for the first two laps, which were very slow. Then I was on my own for a while, he jumped back in my 3rd session of laps. We had lunch and I think he took one more spin in the car with me. It will be interesting having him there the whole time.

I did like the flexibility of going out on the track whenever we wanted. That was nice. This year I am bringing with a cooler to stash water in. I'm also bringing with a good amount of tools, but no extra E85. I can make it there without a fill up and the station is 3 minutes down the road from the track.

Sucks about the wrong key

My civic was faster than your accord

OK, it sounds like your other experience was similar to mine, except my instructor was pretty much lost, and then left halfway through the day. I really did like going out whenever I wanted in the afternoon, but I think getting more instruction will definitely be more helpful. I do hope we can go out at the same time though.

I was going to bring a tool set and maybe some extra fluids (coolant/oil) just in case, but maybe that's overkill. Water is a good idea. I need to pack some of that. Where is the close E85 station? The only one I saw was kind of on the other side of town. I was glad to have my jugs, but I'd rather leave them at home if I don't need them.[/quote]

I think I'll be able to get the right one eventually. Now it works fine to drive the car, but the remote doesn't work.

The Accord was essentially stock, so that's not saying much, LOL.

There was an SA with E85 that was really a 1 or 2 minute drive from the track. I think it was closer than Arby's. Myself and Jux went there after lunch to top off. It was pretty close.

I am also bringing fluids. I have some coolant... and maybe I'll bring some oil. I just paid my cousin to pick up 5qts of that 15w50 TSW stuff for the track. I think I am going to drop it into the car a week or so before the track. I just want to make sure I don't eat it all up on the way up north.

All that matters is that mine was faster It was a hatch, intake, exhaust, coilovers and adjustable struts. Slammed! Which is funny when you look at my current WRX Wheel Gap!

I couldn't find any E85 or food closeby. My brother and I ended up going to Madden's on Gull Lake for lunch! Fast food would have been a lot easier!

Last year I was blowing coolant out of my overflow reservoir so I kept having to add water once it cooled down. Worked fine, but I'd rather dump in coolant so I don't have to worry about freezing in the winter. I figured a quart of oil would be good to have, just in case. I'll do a change right before the track too.

Yeah, I figured I'd post that so people know that not everyone modding their car has a lot of experience or past history with fast cars. I just did everything little by little and learned as I went. I never planned it to get to this point, it just did, lol.

GoPro should come tomorrow! Suggestions on my first test videos? I am thinking front bumper and rear bumper will bring first.

Top middle of the windshield gives a nice view too.

I suggest putting a wind sock in the non-waterproof case back. That will provide the best sound without the wind being too loud.

Nice numbers! I wonder what number would get off the same dyno you used. Nonetheless. Congrats on a sick car!

I'll try that one. I was also thinking on the roof. What is the wind sock?

I don't think the suction cup version will work with a helmet cam but I might be wrong.

No need to guess. Take the dyno out of the equation and do a 50-100mph pull:

Here's a video of it and a link to it in the description. Apparently the one I got is a cheap knockoff but I can't imagine it being that different.

I don't see why you couldn't make one. Its just some double sided tape and whatever material the wind sock is.

Here are a few pics.

OK it's just taped on? Someone on the Evo forum said he bought a stuffed animal cat and cut it apart and glued some of it on. Haha.
