Default LOST / STOLEN e36 BMW in Richmond, VA OR Virginia Beach, VA AREA!!!

Long story short, my e36 is missing and the cops will not help me all they said I can do is find it on my own and have it towed. It is known to be in the RICHMOND, VA area or he also MIGHT be in Virginia Beach where his girlfriend lives!! It should still have the PA plates on it. I am trying to find an address to where it is parked so I can have it towed and come from PA and get it. A friend took it and has not returned with it!! Pictures are below. If seen please call me at 484-433-5145!!!

HIS NAME: Cameron Sandifur

There was no criminal activity committed, so the 'stolen' part of your argument is gone. As soon as you willfully give your keys to someone and permission to drive it, you have waived your ability to ever report it stolen.

Your decisions left you with no course of action except to file a civil suit which will cost you time and money. Do not let yourself believe for a moment that you will prevail in court so your time and money may vanish like your car. You may feel like you're the victim, however that does not obligate a court to find in your favor. You made mistakes and courts don't award mistakes. If you do prevail, that doesn't mean you'll ever see a dime. If someone is out there conning people like this, he likely doesn't have money to pay you.

If you pursue the car and attempt to take it back with force or duress, understand that it is you who will be charged with a crime. If you locate the car and go to take it, ask yourself: 'Is this really worth becoming a felon?'

ALSO... from what you are saying, that means that I have his WRX now with the title in the bank with a lien BUT because he gave me the keys I can now part the car out???!?!?!

I really dont think this is correct. Also if he is not returning the car he might as well just say he never gave him permission.

Have you considered hiring a private detective? I met one once, he drove a WRX as a matter of fact. I wish you the best of luck with finding your car in the exact condition you last saw it

Yes I have but I have found all of the info I need with help from friends in high places AND from everyone on the forums. The address above is where I tracked him down to be at right now unless he left there already. So instead of me driving 6 hours each way for nothing if he left there i'de really appreciate it if someone close could let me know if it is there or not...

That Dozier lane address has no apartments.. Check it on Google maps. lol. I live close enough to if you find a legitimate address, I wouldn't mind checking it out.. but yeah.

There is a distinction under the law between theft and unauthorized use. This instance is not theft. It is unauthorized use.

Funny and completely avoidable. Wonder if he's just going to drive it till the tags run out, then abandon it? Eventually, you'll get a call that your car was wrecked or abandoned on the side of the road somewhere. Is the WRX title in the Ex's name? If so, you might give her the cash to cover the lien and then she could sign the title over to you. Otherwise, the WRX might end up repoed and you'll have nothing.

I think another mistake was not just saying it's stolen to the cops. He has your car, you have nothing. That's stolen to me. You don't even have the WRX. Without the title, it's not yours. You can't even sell it for parts, legally.

I found that address doing some searching and it is suppose to be his G/F's place. Not sure either why there is a apt. but that's where she is registered to...

I tracked the WRX down with the plate on it and it is in his x-wife's name WHO I AM CALLING RIGHT NOW (I found a #) and also registered to him!

Black = makes sense.

Red = does not. If its his car, titled in his name, he can tow it whenever and wherever he pleases. I don't see how towing your own car could be a felony regardless of whether or not someone else possesses keys for it.

OP: Best of luck. Keep us updated, hope you get a hold of this bastard.

So I just got off of the phone with his x-wife she says that she owes $6k on the WRX! She says he is a con artist and will find all of the loop holes. She wants nothing to do with him or the WRX and is doing anything she can to help me including to try and get me the title for the WRX!

You may want to PM Lando. He is the one I would probably go to for advice in this situation.
